The staff at Oakview Park was wonderful. I got to meet a lot of the people that were there, and they were very friendly. It was all on one level, which was nice. The staff was very helpful. They were able to take their cat, which was a real plus. It was a good experience. I didn't try their food, but I saw it being prepared and it looked really good. They take them on outings, they have an activities room, they also had a full salon. They have everything that I feel like anyone would need. The building was very nice, and the outside grounds were nice to go sit in. It was just a good experience. They told me that when someone leaves a room, they completely redo it, like the paint, carpet because they don't want people to feel like they're using someone else's things. It was just very nice.

Oakview Park is a very nice facility. The staff I met was the person who gave me the tour, and I also met with two or three other people. I was impressed with it. It was just that the price was way out of my ballpark. I couldn't afford it. The dining area was very nice. The day that I toured it, they were getting ready for their Christmas event for the night. Upkeep was very good and the facility was probably only three or four years old.

What I liked best about Oakview Park was no matter the level of care, the price was not going to change. So if their care got worse, the contract that we signed for now, and pricing as Dad went into the memory care, or if Mom needed more care, the price wasn't going to change. So I liked that. I liked the fact that if you walk in the door and you're independent, and then you go to assisted, and then you go to memory care, they keep it the same price. The girl that walked us around showed us everything in detail, all the rooms and different facilities that they have there, like the barber shop. I didn't get too much time to talk to the staff, they were on the floor with other residents helping them get to and from activities and so forth. Just like all the others, they have a salon, an area where they do yoga, a little art studio; they have a lot of good amenities.

Oakview Park was a beautiful facility. They just did not meet my mother-in-law's needs. The grounds were nice and the apartment was about the same size as everywhere else. The community fee was very expensive too. The marketing director or person didn't seem to communicate with the director of the facility well over some things that we had talked about, because when I went back for a view of the whole facility, the director had no clue what I was talking about. The food looked delicious though, the dining room was very nice, and I observed that they had a cookout for Father's Day.

The rooms are roomy and the families are aloud to decorate and bring things from the residences home. A little advice a single serve coffee make would be the best for fire safety reasons. Also make sure you have prescriptions for over the counter items like lotions, pain rubs, vitamins, hair pump hair spray, powders, vicks, and vaseline. Basically items that your love one can use on their on. The staff is pleasant and are willing to hear any compliance or suggestions. The residents enjoy BINGO and van outings the cooking classes are always a treat for them because eating the food is always involved. There are activates going on all day, its like being on a all inclusive vacation. In side it looks like a 5 star hotel. For the dog loves they are welcome. For Dr. visits they have a few days a week where they provide transportation. My sisters and I enjoyed the meals when we eat there.

My mom moved into Oakview Park. I feel like she's doing so much better than I expected. Living at home just with myself being her only caretaker, it seemed like her personality was dwindling, but at Oakview Park she has so much more stimulation. Everyone is so happy and loving, absolutely loving towards her. It is like her personality has come back a lot more. Of course they can't help her decline other than with medication. In that regard, I guess that is a different story, but her personality has come back, and she's always happy when I talk to her there. I see that she's been well taken care of. They have a lot of great activities, and people seem to really love and care about the people there. The people that work there seem to really care about the residents. They have wonderful activities. They have bunny therapy on Thursdays that my mom loves. She has her nails freshly done pretty much weekly or every other week or so, and it is really good for her, it makes her happy. They have small contests, like who can tie the ties on the blanket the best, I guess. I don't know how they do it, but my mom got second place. It keeps her fingers active and gives them a sense of community, like they're competing with their friends. They have table partners for activities, so they get to know people, or they try to help them remember who they're sitting with. I think it's worth it, definitely.

My sister moved into Oakview Park last month. All the caregivers are super friendly, helpful, upbeat, and it's about a 70-bed facility in one level. They have nice activities for their guests, they come in and check on her every 2 or 3 hours, and it's a very caring environment. They have field trips about once a week, they have bingo, church services, and they had country music the other day, I was there, and went down with her. They had a bowl of peanuts, crackers, apple cider, everything is decorated, and looks holiday-ish. She has made great strides with the help of PT/OT, and I think she's going to do well. The food looks very good, very delicious, fresh, nice, and it looks like from our area. Everything looks very neat, nice, and well-kept. They have arts and crafts.

Oakview Park was an older building that has been renovated and converted. It was very tastefully done and very elegant in décor. The rooms were a little small. The lady who helped us was very nice, talked with us, and gave us a tour. She also let us talk with several of the residents and staff. They were getting ready to go out on a trip when I was there. I liked the common areas for gatherings or activities. They did not have as much of an outdoor area there, just a really small courtyard. I like the facility and the people. They were nice, professional, welcoming, courteous, and respectful and you could tell the residents really like them.
