My mom was at The Renaissance in Due West for four months. It's a wonderful facility.
Everything was good. The director of the facility is the one I could speak about the most. He went above and beyond. He helped us in a very trying situation with my mom, and he went a lot further than anyone would ever have needed to. He was wonderful; his name is Matthew.
Her room was very comfortable. The food was good, and she didn't have any problems with it.
The only reason we took her out was that it's actually a three-hour drive for me, and her heath had declined, so I needed to get her closer to me.
It's very well maintained, the upkeep is good, and I don't have anything bad to say about them.

The Renaissance stands out to us because of its personal touch. The owner of the place lives there onsite. It is impeccably well-maintained too. I have seen nurses all over walking around the place. They also have activities where they take the residents out to go shopping, and they have events like guys night or girls night out where they go to restaurants and have dinner. They serve three meals a day. They have a huge array of food and you can choose to go to the line and make your own plate, or somebody can bring you your plate. Each of the rooms also has a small kitchenette, so if you choose to stay in your room and cook, you can. The room has a small refrigerator and a small kitchenette. The bathrooms are great too. There is a small church and a library onsite. It is very homey. Looking at all the tenants, everybody seems to be genuinely in a real good mood and looks very healthy. They also have two gym places. It seems they take a lot of pride in making sure their residents all have their independence, stay groomed, clean, and well fed. I really got a relaxed sense on all levels there. Today, that's my favorite place. They have everything from independent living to full care. It is probably the most affordable, but it is still very high.

My friend is in the assisted living of The Renaissance. The experience has been good. He likes it and is doing really well. They play cards, music, sing, arts and crafts, and get together to eat lunch and stuff like that. What stands out to me was that it seems really clean, peaceful, and quiet. I haven't seen any trouble. The staff is wonderful, really nice, and polite, and they do anything you want them to do. They tell him to take out his trash and they'll pick it up for him by the door, so that's a plus. They do anything for him that he needs done; if he needs something fixed, they fix it right away because there's a handyman there. There are three meals a day offered. He says the food is good.

I liked The Renaissance and I liked their apartments. I liked everything about it. The food was good. The rooms were nice and very homey, good enough for 1 person. The staff was very friendly. It looked like they take good care of everybody there. The place was really nice, clean, and didn’t smell like anything.

The Renaissance was very nice, and they're planning to expand. It’s in a small town, adjacent to a college, and they have an arrangement where you can use some of the facilities there which is a very good thing. The issue is it's remote -- about a half hour to 45 minutes from any major metropolitan area. If you needed an ambulance, you'd probably need a helicopter. It's a very quiet place and was more than sub-urban. The people there were wonderful. They have multiple steps, with little autonomous homes, and they have a large building where there are people all the time, not necessarily a nursing home, but it's more of an adult living facility. We ate lunch there, the food is very good, and they had nice staff. The only issue really is the geographical location. The people who lived there said that it was a great place.

The Renaissance was older and had large apartments and independent homes. The problem was it's very isolated in a small town where the only thing is a subway shop and a Family Dollar, so if you want gasoline or grocery store, you have to go 15 or 20 miles. The rooms were big and modern and had new appliances. Some of the homes even had enclosed backyards, so if you have a pet, there's a place where you could let your dog out.
