The tour at Langston Place was good. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Those rooms were nice.
Yesterday, we signed up with Langston Place. My dad will be moving in soon. The place was very clean and nice. The director and all the employees I met were courteous and respectful. They have answered all my questions, and so far, I'm very pleased, that's why I chose to go there. It is also close to my home, so it is easy for me to visit Dad.
My grandmother has moved into Langston Place. We did it straight from the hospital to there because I didn't have the expertise to take care of her. There's also talk about a foley catheter, so they talked about bringing in specialized nurses to deal with that so that we didn't have to make a jump into nursing home care.
The community is perfect and socialized. The staff is loving and caring. The people there seem as happy as they can be in any facilities that I've ever seen. They could have real social experiences with the staff. It's all around a great place. The food is topnotch. It's perfect. It's really good. The facility looks absolutely amazing. The room is a perfect size, bigger than you would think looking from the outside. There is enough room from all the way wheelchair accessible to handicapped accessible to people who can fully move around. It's a perfect size for all of them. They have big showers that are perfect enough. The staff will help you if you need it. If not, you're able to just walk in and walk out of that shower. It's perfect. There's always constant activities. When I was there, they were making cupcakes. They have Halloween stuff, and they trick or treat from room to room. There's always an activity going on to keep them occupied. The facilities are topnotch. The consistency of the staff is perfect. It's cheaper than most places. Even with all the care, it's still kept at a good price.
This is a wonderful community! Because of the smaller size it really has allowed all the staff/care providers to gain a personal relationship with all of the residents, and you can see it right away. It really feels like one big family at Langston Place! When people care for your loved ones, and love them like you do, it gives you the biggest sense of peace you could imagine! I trust Langston Place, and so should you!
My mother has been in Langston Place for 3 days. We paid for a week and we also paid an activity fee. I was billed for July and she never was there in July because she was transferred to a hospital and then to a nursing home. They don't communicate with one another, but the people that deal directly with the residents do a good job. The food was normal, but not exceptional. They had a salon, a TV room, and an inside courtyard. All the doors were secured and you needed a code to go in and out of the front door. The medical team on staff was good and they had a therapy tub. The rooms were clean. For the amount of money that they wanted, they had less value than the other places.
It was less independent living and more assisted. Everybody was very nice there. It was very attractive, and were my sister was a little less mobile, it might be the place, but not for now. They were good.
