The salesperson who gave us the tour at Savannah Place was very knowledgeable. Her name was Tasha, and she knew what to go through and was in-tuned with what was going on in the facility. The place itself was very nice. My concern was this place seemed to have more women in it and fewer men currently there so it didn't seem like a good match for my brother. But it was a very nice facility and it had an outdoor garden area or atrium area. They were going to have volunteers come in and help the residents plant gardens and be able to eat their own food from the garden, so I think that was nice. Their rooms were just recently updated and were very nice. I saw amenities and a different list of what's going on each day, so they had activities planned for people onsite. We saw the people playing card games and puzzles in the common area, it was very clean and nice and the rooms were recently renovated and done with luxury vinyl flooring. It was a clean and nice facility, and it was locked because it's assisted living, so it's not an open campus, unlike the other independent living place that I also saw.

Savannah Place was nice. The tour guide was very friendly, outgoing, very willing to share information, and checked on me even a couple of days later. The rooms were nice and clean. I would have no problem with my dad going there. It looked like everybody was happy there. Some people were hanging out in the community area, too, and they had a courtyard area.

I visited Savannah Place. They were very nice and very well informed and showed us a couple of different rooms. I like their rooms better than the other place. I met the lady who gave us the tour and I met the administrator and they were both very nice, very well informed, and very amicable. The room was a little larger and laid out much nicer.
There weren't any activities going on at the time we were there, but they say they have different ones at different times. It was a very clean facility and very well laid out. I've known other people that have been at that facility, so it was good to see the place for a change. A few people were moving around in there, but it was a pretty quiet facility. The building itself and the grounds were excellent and well kept. We saw the dining area and they showed us their menus and what was available to the residents. The dining area was very nice and laid out in an open style.

My mom is in Savannah Place. It's been a very pleasant, very easy, and seamless transition. The staff has been very caring and thoughtful and did everything they could to make sure my mother was comfortable and fits in. And the food seems to be just good. They have a nice garden, it's a nice property, they have a piano, a nice social area, and a nice dining room.

Savannah Place is the only one we found that takes dogs, and that's the number one thing for us. That really was our number one priority because my mom has a service dog that's connected to her hip. When I went there, I was impressed that they were very caring. I liked the place. It wasn't one of the kinds that get everybody up at eight o'clock in the morning, and the residents have to stay up all day long. Some of the others have rigid rules. This place is not like that. It was clean and welcoming. It was the kind of place that had the garden on the inside of the community, so there was access to be able to get out at many, many places there. I felt it was safe. It was great, and I liked it.
The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and answered all my questions. Just about everybody came in and introduced themselves to me. I spoke to a lot of them there.
The place had nice big rooms opened up to the outside. I liked that it's sunny and airy.

My husband was at Savannah Place in Charleston prior to staying in his current community, and I'd give them a minus 5. The assisted living facility was filthy.
He was confined to his room, and once in a while they had crafts but they stopped all of that when COVID happened and no one was allowed out of their room. I was not allowed in.
The food, I would never eat it. The staff was unfriendly, uncooperative, lazy, and they were actually mean to the residents.

I have moved my mom into Savannah Place. The staff that is responsible for it, I like her a lot, and that was the deciding factor. She did what she said she would do right away. She assured me that they would take care of my mother at that level that she was at. I like all the employees. My mom's room is nice, but you can't get in there. Also it's sufficient for her. I haven't tried the food, but it seems to be OK.

My 90 year old mother stays here when my Husband and I go out of town. She is very happy with the staff and services. We anticipate looking no further than Savannah Place when she requires more care and a permanent place to call home.

Mom has been living here for a couple of months now. We chose it because it is very close to my house. I am very satisfied and very grateful for everything they have done so far. The staff is very professional. Mom is in a private room. They have done a fine job. They keep me well informed. She rests every day very well, and she seems to be thriving there very well. She participates in the activities like games and bingo. They have a lot of church groups that comes to visit. They take them out for a ride, and she's doing fine. The food is very good, and my mother has gained weight. The residents can go out into the middle section where they are in a safe environment, and there are four doors where they can go in and out of. It is efficient.

It was smaller and has not as many people compared to the others. They only have about 39 to 40 people. They have pretty much the same activities as everybody else. They didn't have their own bus. I think they shared one with several other places. It came in once a week and went to Wal-Mart. I have tried their food; it was not quite as good, but it was passable.

Our experience with has been great. The food is great, well-balanced, and the staff is pretty much friendly and efficient. They have family night every third Thursday, they've decorated the place for the holidays and, of course, they have family nights for that. They have bingo, and sometimes they go on outings in the vicinity, they have people coming in and playing and different things like that. My mom is in a one-bedroom, which is really spacious and good for the handicapped because there is a wide door opening and it's a sliding door -- not like one you have to pull open -- and they usually leave it open anyway. Maybe, if they can offer rides to the doctor and stuff like that because most of the time they just take them on outings that would help.
