Stillwater Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Community was negative in every respect as far as I was concerned. The rooms were very small. It looked dark. It didn't offer the services that I needed and there were extra charges. I didn't like the appearance of the building. It's an old building. The bathrooms were extremely small. I would not be able to use my wheelchair in there or anything. It's negative all the way through. There was only one gentleman that came on the tour with us, and he was very nice and answered my questions. They had activities.

The facility is spotless, staff are welcoming, and they are receptive to feedback. Short-term rehab.

I was very impressed with Cortland Place; it was very nice, clean, and didn’t smell like an old folks' home. The staff was friendly. My mom is in a private room; it’s very pretty, spacious, and just the right size for a single individual. It’s got a separate bedroom and a large living and kitchen area, which is very sufficient for someone of her age. The food is good, and mom likes it. The dining area is adequate, very nice, and spacious. They have movie nights, they take the folks out for a drive to Walmart, Target, or surrounding stores, and they have entertainment that come in to entertain the residents.

Cortland Place was nice and the staff was very nice. I went unannounced; I just walked in and told them that I was shopping for assisted living for my wife who has Alzheimer's, and they were just fine with that. It was very nice. The problem is that you go through a bunch of these places, and then you find "the place."
