Mom was a resident in assisted living at Providence Place of Dover for about 2 years when the Covid 19 pandemic began. During that difficult time when we couldn’t visit, the staff members worked diligently to keep us informed of Mom’s general health and changes in her dementia. During that time, at the staff’s recommendation, we moved Mom into memory care to ensure that her needs were met. Once we were able to visit again, we met many of the staff and were always impressed with the care Mom received and with the staff’s response to our questions. We so appreciate every member of the staff at Providence Place of Dover and thank them all for their effort and support over the last few years. We are saddened that government regulations required us to move Mom to skilled nursing care in another facility. We would highly recommend Providence Place of Dover for assisted living needs.

This facility may look nice and some of the staff are pleasant, but my issue is with the girl named Abby who does medications. She is not friendly at all, is borderline rude to the residents. Overheard her telling a woman that if she didn’t take her meds, that it wasn’t her problem. Seriously considering moving my relative because of this woman. I do not want her around my family!!!

My parents have moved into Providence Place of Dover. The communication is outstanding. The staff is on top of everything. You ask for something, and either they have it available or they get it. The staff members are very friendly with my mom and dad and make them feel comfortable. In the dining area, they have family-style seating and they automatically start serving them. They take her meal requests two days before. The food is very good with a nice variety. There is also an area where, if we have dinner or lunch on the weekend, we could sit together with my parents.

My parents have both been in the Dover facility for 3 years, During this time they have made improvements to the facility and have made staff changes that I think have made Providence Place a much better place. There is always activities and even bands or solely musicians that come in and the residents "pack the place" to hear them. The staff goes over and beyond to work with people and their families to provide a really great living experience.

We hit several places and zeroed in on Providence Place. It is assisted living and nursing care; right now, my mom is in nursing care. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and sizable. The dining area is comfortable, and they have very good food there. It is restaurant-style, so you have options on the menu. The overall atmosphere is friendly, comfortable, and homey. They offer a variety of activities, like bingo and crafts, and outside musical, etc. groups come in for entertainment. Some of the residents actually play the piano, so there’s always something going on. The only problem we had was we moved my mom from outside the area to Providence Place, so she lost her primary care physician and had trouble coordinating to get a new primary physician.

Mom has moved in to Providence Place in September. The facility is very clean and well kept. The staff is very caring and very friendly. They keep the residents quite busy. They have music, programs, games and religious services. The room is like a small hotel room. It has a little microwave and a refrigerator but it doesn't have a regular kitchen. I have not eaten there but I've been there when the residents did eat and it seems that it's very ample portions and mom has said that it's good. The residents there seem happy.

Providence is more of rural area and my mom is kind of a country girl, so we thought she would be more comfortable in that type of setting. The atmosphere and the cleanliness of the place is what impressed me most. For activities, residents would get to go for a country drive at least once a week. Also they have a trip every week to go to a grocery store or a department store. They also have exercise classes, bingo, etc., just almost anything to fit anything someone would like to do. From the time my mom stayed there, she is a changed person and she has adapted well. She said that she would not want to go home again. She is very content to where she is, so we're very pleased with that. The staff is very caring, helpful, and very concerned to their residents. We are also very pleased with them. Also the food they serve there is excellent.

In Providence Place of Dover, the staff is helpful. There is always someone there to take care of my mother in law 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. They also have a lot of activities for her, though she hasn't participated in a lot. She has dementia. The room that she is currently in right now is spacious enough for my mother-in-law.

Very clean, safe and comfortable home. We were very pleased with the owner and the staff. The home smells very good with fresh cooking lunch or dinner, no unpleasant odors whatsoever. All bedrooms were tidy and clean, no visible dust, fresh flowers are in every room. Residents look and sound happy and well take care of. Good home to be in.

The facilities are very nice, and offer a range of help options from completely independent living to highly supervised living, even a dementia wing. It is a Christian based company so there is a great deal of fellowship provided for the residence which in my grandmother's case was very helpful in the transition from her own home to an apartment in this facility. The grounds are well kept and attractive. The staff is somewhat transient (high turnover rate), but to my understanding this is quite common in this type of care facility. The staff that has been there longer has many connections with the residents and are always friendly to visitors as well. The facility is also very interested in having families involved, even sponsoring holiday parties and summer picnics to create situations where families are more likely to visit the residents. This provider was very helpful as my grandfather deteriorated and it became necessary to increase his care and supervision. They were able to do this without infringing on my grandmothers independence. They even took charge of coordinating transportation for my grandmother once my grandfather needed to transfer to a skilled care facility.
