Atria McCandless was clean and nice. We saw the rooms. Everything was great, except for a couple of things. They were pretty much in line moneywise with the other facility. The only reason that I didn't go with them is, at the time my mother had a catheter in, and they said they would not change the catheter. She was too weak, unsteady, and she can't see really good. There was no way that she could change her own bag. They didn't have the facility to do that, and that was the determining factor for me. That's a biggie, because as far as I'm concerned, there probably would be a lot of people that are elderly at some point, for whatever reason, who might have to have a catheter. The staff member who gave us the tour, she was awesome, thorough, and as nice as can be. I actually broke down and cried at one point, and she was just very tender. I can't say enough about the tour in general, it was great. They showed me two different rooms and one in particular was not set up for somebody that's 93 years old. It had a countertop, which was beautiful with high seating. My mother would never have been able to get off and on that seating, and that would have been where she would be eating. So, that was kind of a turn off for me. The dining area was nice, it was probably a five. In the morning, they had pastries out where the residents there could actually go in and grab a pastry or whatever. If they didn't want to eat there, they could take it back to their room. They had a lot of options, like a quick hot dog or hamburger or whatever. That would be nice for a lot of people that don't actually want to sit down and have a big meal. It was mainly the fact that I didn't like the one room set up, and the other one was not as nice as the other facility. I did not like the fact that they could not facilitate changing a catheter bag. That's why they're there, to get assistance. If they can't take care of the medical needs, to me, that's a big turnoff.

Atria McCandless was very nice. It was like going into a resort. Everything was very open and spacious. You didn't feel like you were cramped like in some nursing homes. The tour guide was very nice and the rooms were what I'd expected. They seemed spacious enough, all brand new, and they were very nice. The staff was very knowledgeable and she was fairly new, but I think she did a good job for only being there for a little while. It's a beautiful facility. It's a fairly new facility. It's not been opened all that long. They're not full yet, but everything that they told me in the brochure that I received, I was very impressed. If you're looking at some care facilities, it was a very nice one to look at.

Atria McCandless just opened this year. It's a brand new facility and beautiful, but it's too expensive for me. It's very upscale. They have washers and dryers in every apartment, and some apartments have full kitchens. Everything looked great about it, but I can't afford it. The sales staff I worked with was very nice. I liked her. Everybody that we passed in the hall were very friendly and said, "Hello, how are you?" The man in-charge, I didn't care for at all. He was very high. He said, "We'll talk about all that when you come for lunch." He wouldn't answer any questions, so he turned me completely off. They're all separate apartments, but you have your dinners and lunches and everything together. They have some that are just one room, but most of them have a bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room with a kitchen. They're very upscale apartments. Nobody's ever been in it. It would be clean and brand new. They were spacious enough. They had a pool and a beauty salon. You name it, they had it. I can't say bad about anything, except it's too expensive for me. All day long there were activities, arts and crafts, and exercise classes. I didn't see any of them because I was just touring, but they showed me where these things take place. They had a bocce court and all kind of things going on. It was a very upscale place. The sales staff (other than their head man) was very nice. Because of Covid, they were serving in the rooms. They didn't have the dining room open.

My family is very impressed with the lifestyle offered to my mother at Atria. Her apartment is beautiful and new. They have nice big windows and high ceilings, which really makes her apartment feel large and open. The staff is wonderful, she especially loves her housekeeper, Tina. She loves the fitness classes offered at Atria, she is in the gym at least 3 times a week for their classes. She also really enjoys the art programs that they bring in. Overall we are really happy with the qualify of the community at Atria McCandless.

We chose Atria McCandless for my mom because it was new, and it is close. Mainly its location and the size of the units are nice. They have an option to have a kitchen, and the balcony is nice. As far as the care is concerned, they have it 24/7. The staff was friendly and acknowledged us. They were just trying to be helpful. The amenities were very nice. They have a pool, a workout room, and she could have her therapy there. The restaurants were nice. They were taking the proper precautions for Covid, and that was important. They have flexibility; we could come and go. It is very nice, and it is also very new. As far as its attractiveness, it is a five. I do not know about the care because it is so new. I would actually love to talk to some of the residents. I would like hear from people who are actually living there, what they think about it. First impression was very nice. We really have no negative experience. It was all positive.

My overall experience at Atria McCandless was pleasant. The staff was very kind, and it sounded like they were experienced. The facility was clean and well kept, and the rooms were nicely furnished. It was a nice place. The location was good, and it was also in the middle of everything.
