Staff was phenomenal. They really took care of my mom and we’re so happy to accommodate my family during visits. The gym and rehab is AMAZING ! So big and great equipment. Definitely will recommend

This is the worst place ever. Please do not send your parents here for rehab. My dad went after a hospital stay for rehab. The cost is $468 per day... he was able to walk on his own when he went in. He’s not capable of sitting up on his own now they did absolutely no rehab and didn’t even bother to help him change his clothes or shower, not even once in 20 days, there was no heat in his room and they didn’t even get a lousy blanket for him. The entire place smells like a subway. This place should be closed down by the state. The staff is confrontational at best. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR PARENTS HERE.

Please stay far away from Langhorne Gardens Nursing Home. If you love your family member DO NOT place them in this disgusting, poorly managed, and uncompassionate place. My aunt was there for six (6) days, T-S; she was taken out and had to go to a hospital due to her debilitating condition. Only six days in there and she was discharged with bed, feet, and back sores. She did not have them when she entered. Even worse she was severely dehydrated and required immediate hospitalization. She entered with just a sprained wrist, had mobility, and could care for herself. She left in a wheelchair unable to walk due to a lack of strength and unable to care for herself. I wouldn't wish the 'care' she received on a dog! Tried to take her out of there on the fifth day, but the family was threatened with loss of insurance coverage if taken without a doctor's signature. She was discharged the following day (M) without her dentures because they lost them, and had to be hospitalized with near-fatal dehydration. STAY AWAY! Harrisburg and authorities will be hearing from us.

Arrived to facility and directed to room. First thing I noted was broken tv. Sat three hours and only contact was them bringing dinner into room. Salad with chicken pieces that were slimy and smelled rotten. I went into bathroom and the sink was crusty with dirt with hairs on sink and floor. Wall by toilet looked like it had fecal spray still on it and never washed.
The place was disgusting!

Care nurses, supervisor and charge nurses have been wonderful on the 200 unit. Very caring and friendly to residents. They talk to the residents, compliment them and go the extra mile. Very pleased with care

I can only WARN others to avoid this nursing home if possible. The lack of care and compassion is beyond description. Its all about money and the commodity not the residents. Turnover excessive; call outs excessive; and nurses normally will not assist aides when short although they are included in the staff requirements to the state to meet regulations. They are only there do meds. There have been cleanliness and laundry issues. Since new owners took over, supplies have been replaced with cheaper inferior versions. Staff Attitudes and morale very poor. I had no choice but to look for another facility.

From the first time I met with the staff, I felt a warm and professional vibe from Langhorne Gardens, (herinafter, LG). We were in a real bind - needed a place for my in laws because their assets were rapidly becoming depleted. Both have advanced dementia, and very few places will accept 2 people in one room at one time. I was told things like, "One year waiting list" from a lot of the other places we looked at. Although my father in law went in through the hospital after he fell, LG allowed my mother in law to move in 2 weeks later. When I compare LG to the private pay facility where they had been living for the past 2 years, it's shocking. The staff at LG take the time to speak to every resident that they pass. They know them by name, they treat them respectfully, and they act like professionals. In our experience at the 'other' place, located in Newtown, staff would avoid resident's eyes, never set up a line of communication for families - I could go on. At LG, i we have a question, we email the Social Services office and they respond! The activities directors are friendly and outgoing and, although it's only been 2 weeks, we are very happy with LG.

Please do not bring your loved one here. The in house doctor provides medications that are not on your family doctors list without your approval. XANAX and Zoloft for people in their late 80's are their favorite. I call it the house of medication. I immediately had my family member taken off this ridiculous prescription. She is way more alert. This place needs to be shutdown out once!
