The residents are allowed to wander with little to no supervision and frequently wander into other people’s rooms. The staff when this is brought up to them, either deny responsibility or tell us the person doesn’t understand what they are doing. I strongly suggest that you train the aides about the need to keep an eye on their residents who wander.

Do not ever put a family member or let them put yourself here. I have an allergy to eggs it said that on the paper on my food tray but every morning there was eggs . And what foods I did try was awful. Had the good old army staple s.o.s if you don't know chipped ham on toast with a cream sauce. Sauce was thick as tar and tar might taste better. Then sauc

My father is in Edison Manor for rehab to gain strength for surgery. Problems started on day 1. When we arrived we where pointed down to the end of the hall to his room. Bed wasn't made up and there was a complete lack of organization, had to track someone down to get sheets and blankets for bed. Once I got him settled I ran out to get him some things he needed. While I was gone he rang for assistance and waited an hour before anyone answered the call button. He can not walk on his own/falls so he ask for a pee bottle. He was told the pee bottles where all locked up and he should just wet the bed and they would change him. he held his pee for 3 hours until i got back and DEMANDED a pee bottle for him. now 2 weeks later they are kicking him out because of an issue with insurance although he is scheduled for surgery in about a week. Even though the care is very poor at this place he has improved but now Edison Manor is kicking him out on the street before he is ready for surgery. They came into his room today and was told to start packing his things and he needs to be out by sunday. Don't know how he is supposed to pack this things when he cant hardly get out of bed. Its pathetic how Edison Manor treats people.

Not enough staff for adequate care. Lack of resources like toilet paper.

My mother was a short term patient in the fall of 2015 after suffering a heart attack and open heart surgery. The staff were absolutely amazing and the nursing care was excellent. All her personal needs were met, her room was cleaned daily, and she liked the food. She became close with so many of the staff members and was able to go back home within four weeks.

My grandfather was in this SNF for short term therapy. During his lengthy stay, he was repeatedly found in his bed by family members sitting in urine, frequently did not have drinking water, was put on an alarm restraint with a pee bottle (even though he was supposed to be using the bathroom by being helped by staff so that he could become more independent), he was given just a Bowl of mashed potatoes for dinner at times which is not nutritious, and slipped out of bed and staff didnt even know (his neighbor saw him on the floor for a long period of time). This place was appalling. I would not put my worst enemy here. My grandfather also contracted MRSA while in this home. Oh and when he was sent out to the hospital for becoming septic, they tried charging us for holding his bed even though we did not ask for that. This place needs shut down.
