We chose Juniper Village at Lebanon for my grandparents because the staff is amazing. I can't say anything bad about it. The staff is wonderful, and the food is excellent. I've eaten with them twice. That was a big concern for us, because in the other facility they were not being fed properly. We see the staff making special arrangements because my grandparents are on a special diet and a diabetic diet, and they make accommodations for them. I like that they are truly caring and genuine, and there are plenty of activities. They have a gym, a salon, and they have in-house maintenance.
My wife's aunt is at Juniper Village at Lebanon. The staff members seem to be pretty pleasant and helpful. They do seem to have a fair amount of turnover. It's a nice facility. Everything is on one level. The rooms down to the dining room are all easy to get to. Her comment about the food is that it's kind of bland. It's institutional food. They have games and bingo. They have activities in the community room that people can choose to attend. They have Bible study. The grounds are pretty well maintained. It's a bigger campus. The facility always seems to be clean. I don't ever smell bad smells when I walk in. My wife's aunt is well tended for.
One of the things that we are impressed or unimpressed about a place right away is the cleanliness and the odor. Juniper Village at Lebanon was very clean and didn't have a bad odor anywhere. My wife and I went on a tour through the facility and they seemed to have a nice arrangement in their cafeteria for meals. They had several group meeting areas that were used for different social purposes, primarily. They also seemed to have an active regular series of either lectures or activities or something that go on in those areas. They seemed pretty aggressive about having tours that they take their people on, with their own transportation. They were good about offering transportation to and from medical appointments too.
Overall, it was one of the more attractive facilities that we visited. Again, it just wasn't geographically appealing for us because of its location. If my wife would have an appointment at a hospital in Hershey, I'd have to drive over to Lebanon to get her and drive back to Hershey then drive her back and drop her off. It just wasn't going to work very well for us but that was the only reason we were having any downgrade in our interest in them. If you were looking for something in the Lebanon area, this is a very nice facility. It's very attractive, and surprisingly, has polite staffing. They must drill their staff on being nice to everybody and not just to us, but I could witness them being that way with residents there too. They're a very polite and professional staff. They were quite impressive.
We saw portions of both independent and assisted living but our interest was in assisted living. The facilities were very clean and very presentable.
We went to Juniper Village at Lebanon. The person who toured us was very knowledgeable, showed us the room, and showed us all around the facility. It seemed to be more dated than the other place, but the rooms were fine. There's more out of pocket expense, so it's more expensive. There was a group of women spaced out watching TV and socializing. They have a beauty shop, laundry, and an exercise bike.
Juniper Village in Lebanon was nice, but was a little far for us. The rooms were just not as homey as an apartment. They're smaller than the common areas too. It was a little bit of an older building, but it was still very nice. The people were wonderful and I know that people probably get good care there. There was an outdoor space and it was very pretty.
My mother-in-law and father-in-law moved into Juniper Village in Lebanon. What I like about it is the homey style, and that it is not so big. The price is better than what we have found in the area. They just moved in there, and it appears that they're getting proper care. The staff or employees that I have met so far have been excellent. The facility appears to be okay. They are getting their meals served in the dining room, with the restrictions in play. It looks like they've done a good job.
Juniper Village at Lebanon was fine. We got a good explanation on the cost, and we had a good tour. I found nothing wrong with it as far as the facility goes. The apartments were well-kept, but a little smaller than what my parents would like. They play bingo and go on trips. The person who took me around was very knowledgeable.
Extravagant! Christine showed me a 1-bedroom apartment, also a companion suite. Had very delicious lunch and also met some wonderful residents as well. The grounds were exceptional.
My husband and I provide interactive music programs with the residents. We are always grateful for the willingness and enthusiasm of the community. I observe the encouragement of the staff to try new things and when able, they participate right along with the folks. It's nice to see the staff knows each resident by name and are very friendly and supportive. We're glad to be a part of the wide variety of activities offered and getting to know the residents as well.
Juniper Village is clean. Dad has a unit on the second floor across from the rec center. The unit has a walk-in shower and lift chairs. The staff member who showed us around was very nice and very helpful. I didn't have any problems with her. There's a card game every Thursday night and movie nights. My dad is moving in this July.
