The Terrace at Chestnut Hill had a good atmosphere. I liked the people. However, it looked like they were understaffed because there was a lot of stuff to do, but I saw them engaged with the residents. They were friendly and I liked that there's more diversity there. Most of the people sat around and watched TV, but they said they also do game nights. The memory care unit was up on one particular floor. It was upstairs and I thought the security was really good. It was locked. You have to get special access to get on the elevator and stuff. So that's good. Everyone was involved with the residents. They also had a small game room. The facility could have been lighter or brighter. Some people don't want a whole lot of brightness, but to me, it was too dark.

I like the location of The Terrace Chestnut Hill. I live in Philadelphia, so it's easy to get there. The fees are lower than others. It's all inclusive. The memory care (where my mom is at right now) is small. They could give a little more attention to the residents.
I've seen better food, but what they have is not bad. It's good, but culturally it's not really the type of food we eat. The food my mom's used to eating is Southern. It's not about the salt; we're very health conscious. She was already loving the activities from first day she's there. They have art and music. There is just a lot going on to keep someone busy every day.

We moved Mom to The Terrace at Chestnut Hill March 2021. The Executive Director relocated and we followed her toTT@CH.
We found out that if the ED was on top it the whole facility/staff followed the leadership.
Best decision we've made. Each time we FaceTime or chat with Mom she is SOOOOO happy. That's what's it all about at this season of her world. Many thanks to my brother and his family for the support.

The rooms are typical size. The staff seem friendly. Management has chagned for the 3rd time in a year which was concerning but the administrator is the same and we are glad of that. They send weekly voicemails to communicate. It’s not the same as being there, but it helps. And everyone cares so much about the residents. That makes me feel good. The new Activities Director is great! My aunt raves about her. Would recommend this community and do.

My aunt was in The Terrace at Chestnut Hill. The activities were dependent on the staff that was working. Some people were more engaged with the seniors than the others. They had a great staff, but they were so poorly run. I would suggest that they keep their staffing consistent in their memory care, that they had more food selections, and better food choices for the seniors. However, they need to have better training for new staff members.
