Harmony at West Shore was a phenomenal location. It looked more like a hotel than it did. Everything was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. They had beautiful libraries, a beautiful meeting area, and many different dining locations. The food smelled really good. I did not eat there, but everything smelled fantastic. They had a huge amount of activities for the residents. They could go to the store, and they have transportation arranged for that. They also had a variety of different levels of rooms. They had studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms. I got to visit all the different room sizes, and they all were absolutely beautiful and very nicely decorated. It did not feel at all that you were in a facility; it was like a nice apartment. It's one of the ones I'm considering. The staff that I interacted with seemed to be very nice. They were very busy, and the residents had the option to be included just to do their own thing. Everybody seemed very happy and very personable when I was doing the tour.

We liked Harmony at West Shore a lot. If we were deciding to do that, we would be looking at that place. It was also less expensive. If I was to move out of my own home and go into assisted living, I would think that would be a great place to be. The room was fine. Of course, the furniture was staged because we have to provide our own. But the room size and the way it was laid out, I thought was certainly fine. I have no problem living there. The only person I had any contact with was from the sales office and she took us around to look at different things like the therapy area, the game room, and the cafeteria. She did everything. She answered all our questions, she was very knowledgeable, and she called me several times on follow-ups. I just talked to her again today and told her what was going on. She said, 'If you need anything, any help, or have any questions, give me a call.' So I couldn't ask for any more help than what she has already provided.

Facility marketing staff at first meeting are very cordial and treat you nicely. Beware, some of what they tell you is exaggerated. Do your research and use due diligence before committing to moving here. Facility is often short staffed. Call bell response is very slow most often exceeding 10 minutes and up to 20 minutes. They claim response time would be between 5-7 minutes. My relative wasn’t bathed for 5 days and a family member bathed her. Short staffing, on occasion, has been an issue with one person for all floors for assisted living. Staff turnover is an issue. The hallways on the floors are extremely long and there is only one elevator. Residents with walkers and canes have to walk a very long distance to the elevator. I’ve been told food is good.

The Crossings at West Shore is brand-new and I like that they have an RN on staff during the day. The rooms and apartments were beautiful, they were sunny, and they have two windows a bedroom and in the living area. They also have many models, so you can go from 333 square feet to 745 square feet, which is the biggest room. They have granite countertops, a full refrigerator, microwave, and I can move in there in a heartbeat. They also have independent living, personal care, and memory care. The person who gave me the tour was great, the activities director was wonderful, and they answered all of my questions honestly. They have physical therapy and a lot of activities, although not as many as the other community we visited. I took my mom on a Fourth of July picnic there and we had hamburgers and hotdogs. The food is farm-to-table, so it's fine. The place is visually beautiful, guaranteed. The staff is knowledgeable and understanding, which is a big thing.
