My aunt was in Weatherwood Manor. It's a UPMC facility. She stayed there for 11 years. It was expensive, but it's nice. When you enter, they have a little lounge area with a fish tank and they have a piano there. Sometimes, they have people come in and play music. There's a little library area where you can read books or people can get books. There's a little store that has greeting cards and stamps and things like that. The dining area was very lovely with centerpieces on every table and it's very open. The food wasn't bad. There's a lot of different choices at breakfast, but there were two main entrees at the main meal, which was served at 12:30. In the evening, they usually have a soup and sandwich, like a light fare. If you don't like what's on the menu, they had two or three things that they would make, like a grilled cheese sandwich or a burger or something like that. The staff that most people would come in contact with on a day-to-day basis, the receptionist, the person driving the van, and the caregivers, were wonderful. The only issue I had with the whole thing, after 12 years, was when I was emptying my aunt's room. The management was not very helpful with that part. When she went in, they had a checklist of the things she brought, like a chair, table, and lamps of her own, and then there was stuff that they had there. They didn't take any pictures. She had three chairs, and I wasn't sure which one to leave, and I kept asking somebody and nobody had an answer. Nobody in that facility died from COVID. They paid attention to that. To me, if you can get through COVID in an assisted living center with nobody dying during the worst part of it at the beginning, that's pretty amazing. They seemed to have a lot of activities. My aunt didn't do a lot of them, but I would have. They had a Neil Diamond concert on TV. They had calendars up in all the elevators, and then they had them in the rooms. Every day, they seemed to have two or three things that the people could do, and a lot of times, they would take them to the store. They had a van, and when you really couldn't go to the store because of COVID, they would sometimes, like in the fall, take them out to look at leaves or go out to look at Christmas lights or something, just to have something to do.

Uncaring staff. Greedy admin staff, especially Laurie the head person in the office. Terrible cleanliness of my mom's room. Don't put your loved one in there. Go elsewhere, anywhere else!

I chose 2 stars only because of the lack of communication with leadership. This is so very important when having a loved one in care. The aides, front desk staff, dining room staff and Vaughn were always helpful and kind. WW is very clean. The food is very good. I found the administrator to be cold and unfriendly -actually avoided families. I brought my concerns to nursing leadership on several occasions. It was difficult to get a return call despite leaving several messages. This is NOT the place for someone with dementia. They want seniors who are active physically and mentally. Bottom line is they want a full house so unfortunately those with dementia do not thrive.

My mother was at Weatherwood Manor, and it was very good. They were very caring and took good care of her. It was clean, and they were very attentive. They had games, rosary, and sing-along; I would say it was a pretty active community.

today I went to visit a friend recently moved to weatherwood manor. The place is very large and clean. the receptionist that greeted us was not very friendly and I considered her rude. A couple of other people we asked questions were very short and almost seemed irritated that we bothered them. After being told we weren't allowed to visit our friend until after lunch, we waited almost 45 minutes in the lobby and because we were pressed for time, we only had time to visit for less than a half hour. AND, yes, you are welcome to join them for meals for a price! left there feeling very upset and depressed.

My mother is currently at Weatherwood Manor. The staff is very friendly. The building and grounds are well maintained. It is lovely. The decor and everything are very clean. They have lot of activities. They have bingo, crafts, sing alongs, and movie nights. They have a beautiful dining room, and it is just like eating in a restaurant because they round first with coffee or cold drinks, then they ask them which of the choices they want for the meal. I have eaten there 3 times now, and everything has been very good. We are very happy with it.

I wouldn't send my family here. My grandmother was in there and the cnas were so rude. I asked to have her blood pressure checked and they said they will but it reall doesn't matter cause it's up to the big man to decide when it's time to go! Uncalled for!

Weatherwood is a very beautiful place that gives you so much comfort in leaving your loved one with them. They are honest, friendly and are their for you always. We had my mom at our house for 6 years and took care of her and when we had to put her in assisted living we checked out many places. When I walked into weatherwood and met the people their I knew God had answered my prayer to where mom was to be.She is so happy their and I love all the ways they make her always feel special. She has been their 2 years.I volunteer their and I just adore all the residents. They definitly have met all my expectations and more. The activities are so well planned always and the dining area and food selections are also wonderful. You just have to know that this was definetly the best choice we made.God Bless
