My husband is in the Simpson House. I'm very unhappy with where he is now. I don't know what their vacancy rate is, but they just seem intent on keeping him. He's been there for over a month now, and it's supposed to give him intensive therapy. They said he can't walk without personal assistance. He didn't feel that was true. He felt he could, but they hover over him. He said it makes him so nervous, like they're ready to grab him any second.
I've never met the staff. He says they're very friendly, but he doesn't like the way they hover over him. He said the food is fine. I've only been in the entrance area. You have to make an appointment, and they don't take you to his room. He sits in a wheelchair all day long. he gets a television that doesn't get the baseball games. My husband feels they're not very open with them. They give him no information. They give me no information. The doctor sees him, but I don't know his name. You have to make arrangements during the week to actually see him. I think it's a really deadly situation as far as keeping someone vibrant.
