My mother was a recent patient at this institution for rehabilitation services after a fall. It was the only rehab center which had beds when the hospital was ready to discharge her. When we first arrived at Brookside we knew we were in trouble. The smell was horrendous, the rooms were very old, the floors were dirty, the bathroom was dirty as well. The staff did not know anything about my mother and the care she needed. They kept providing the wrong foods for her, even though her dietary notes were very clear. We had to continuously ask for her medication to make sure she was given them on time. There were a couple of nurses (not all - most were pleassant- and the aides were very nice) who just were very rude and curt with her (98 years old and blind). It only takes one to make you want to get your family member away from there. We felt that we needed to have someone from the family there from the time visiting hours began until sometimes 2-3 a.m. in the morning. We found another institution and moved her as soon as they had availability. I would never recommend this institution.

Brookside Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center is nice, and they're good. My sister-in-law is getting therapy there, and they take her to dialysis. Everybody's friendly. I did see the food that came out and I'm not too impressed with it. On Fridays, they have a luau, and they also have a library. Everybody seemed nice and efficient. The facility is beautiful.

My mother recently spent 3 months at Brookside prior to her passing. The facility doctor and the entire staff were attentive and genuinely caring and kind. They have good rules and procedures in place to keep residents safe and healthy and respond quickly to family questions. Brookside gave me peace of mind during a very difficult time and is a very good alternative if your loved one is no longer able to live at home.

All the folks at Brookside are always quite cordial and ask if you need their assistance. The PT and OT provided by numerous therapists are top notch! Doctors, nurses, nurse aides, front desk ,social serivces and appointment scheduling departments are all truly caring individuals who provide family members with up to date information in a timely manner. Only the food needs to be a little more enticing however, this is an excellent facility for Nursing and Rehab.
