Allegria at the Oaks promotes choice, independence, and well-being. We have a caring, compassionate and professionally-trained staff including nurses, medication technicians and personal care assistance available to meet the diverse needs of our residents. With the recent installation of a Bosche security system for added resident protection, those with mild cognitive impairment can be fully integrated in resident activities, allowing each person to participate in dining, recreational and other community events. For those with more advanced dementia, specially designed activities and engagement programs are provided to meet their unique needs.

Memory Care at Allegria at the Oaks is about service, dignity, and compassion. We provide personalized care in a secure, home-like environment that maintains the resident’s quality of life and independence. We strive to preserve cognitive function through a dynamic activities program that promotes individuality and respects the dignity of residents.

Our unique program, modeled after state-of-the-art Scandinavian programs, allows residents to interact with our knowledgeable and caring staff throughout the day. Each caregiver is trained to provide assistance with the basic functions of daily living while also “engaging” with residents in stimulating and fulfilling activities. Visitors would not find it unusual to see a caregiver baking cookies or putting golf with a few residents. Also, there are frequent musical events, designed to stimulate memories and a regular exercise program to extend fitness. The gentleman in Allegria at the Oaks, Wesley, was the one who showed us all the activities and the different-sized rooms in the assisted living. When I said that my father-in-law would probably need a little more intensive care, he took us up to the memory care floor and showed us the rooms up there. He then showed us the dining room (which was very clean and appropriate) and everything that they provided. It was a very good tour. He was very professional, very kind, and explained everything very well. The facility was very nice and well-kept. They have games, church on Sundays, activities, and a garden that my in-laws could sit outside and enjoy.

Everything with Allegria at the Oaks has been good. I worked with Leah, she's one of the directors there. Any time I have questions about anything, she calls me back and they give me all the answers. They're on lockdown right now because of the outbreak, so they've been Facetiming my dad with me. He has dementia, so he has his good days and bad days, but all in all, he's good so far. So our move-in experience has been good. They have two different parts, one is just care and the other one's memory care. He's not used to eating the facility food. It's very, very clean. I've never seen an assisted living or nursing home so clean. I like that there's not a lot of people, they have about 90 people in total. Right now, they just went back to activities because they had a COVID outbreak. They have bingo, music, and they play games.

Negative: The food is horrible. There are no amenities. Sparse, barren atmosphere. Given lower level bedroom. Multiple spider sitings. Positive: most staff are friendly.

My grandfather has been living there for a few months. He is a very active and social guy. When I asked him the other day how things were going, he said "this is the best hotel I've ever stayed at"! He loves the food and talked about the different "projects" he's been working on. The activities seem great and he loves to paint and chat with the other residents. He's excited to go outside more now that the weather is nice and they have a little resident garden. When I visited, the facility looked clean and bright. Lunch was being served and the staff seemed attentive and the other residents looked happy. Overall we are very happy with Allegria.

My mother was a past resident of Allegria at the Oaks. I think they were great, everything was good, it was very clean, and the staff was helpful. It was a positive experience, but she just wanted to go home. The dining area is always clean, and she has no complaints with the food. They have something new every day, they always play games, and they always kept them busy.

We visited Allegria at the Oaks, the experience was very positive. The lady who gave us the tour was in charge of admissions and marketing. She was a very young at heart and lively lady who gave us a very good review and a good picture of what the community was like. They were updating and working on the facilities to make them more attractive. The residents had nice, big rooms. There was a shed out back and very pretty surroundings. It's for people who love a country setting. We didn't choose it because my brother-in-law grew up in the Bronx and likes to go to Wawa and places like that, and there's nothing for him like that in this community. He'd feel confined there. The place itself, the kind of care, and the personal interaction between the staff and residents was great. It's a great place and would be perfect for someone else. I saw a couple of rooms that were larger than average compared to the other places we saw.

It was big with close to 100 residents. They had some single rooms, but more were companion rooms, which would not have been the right fit for my mother. The person I talked to was new, so it was more of a perfunctory tour. There was an entertainer at that time, which the residents were enjoying. They had a very nice menu and choice of selections, so that was nice. It was in a residential area that was not in walking distance to stores.

My father has been at Oaks for over 5 years. He just turned 103 years old 2 weeks ago. He and my mother entered the facility together, they were both in the assisted living section upon entering. I was very pleased with the care they both received, especially mom at the time. If a concern was brought to their attention, it was remedied. Since entering, they have restructured and redecorated. They grounds are wonderful. The first floor was redesigned for memory care, which my father has recently been moved to. I am so pleased with that transition. He seems happier and more involved with the activities. More difficult for him was not speaking English and being able to communicate, but the staff went out of their way to include him. They even have a Russian speaking activities person who has been a God send. I am there just about every day at dinner. The food looks appetizing and nutritious, menu options are given every day for anyone who might want something different. Thank you to the caring staff and employees !

It is a nice facility. The rooms are nice. The food is good, and she is happy there. The whole place is nice. There are a few things that we are a little surprised about, but overall it is a good place. I will say we are satisfied with the care. I will recommend them to others.

The people are extremely caring, the staff is very efficient, and the facility itself had kind of a warmth to it -- kind of like an extended home for my mother-in-law. She was there for a 2-week respite care, and she ended up having a roommate. They became very good friends, so she had a very good experience while she was there. We had lunch there one day, and it was very good. They had the Olympics on in the evening for the people, and every night they watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, Bingo and parlor games. One woman across the hall from my mother-in-law has a son who plays the harp for people for an hour and a half, so she really enjoyed that.
