My mother currently lives at Harrison House of Chester County. She's in assisted living or personal care. Overall, it's good. I think she's received attentive care. The workers are caring and compassionate. The only negative was when we first toured the facility, we were told that pretty much there were all different levels of care, so as her needs increase, they would be able to handle her increased needs. As it turns out now, that's not the case. They told us that unfortunately since she's had a fall and needs more care, we now need to move her somewhere else. They offer different levels of care. I'm not quite sure why they feel that they can no longer care for her unless they just don't have room or an area that would accommodate her. They gave us the impression that they would be able to accommodate us. As her memory failed or as her needs increased, they had nurses that would be able to accommodate that. We were disappointed when that turned out not to be the case. The staff was kind and compassionate. The nurses, the CNAs, and the people that worked in the kitchen were all very kind, pleasant people. The rooms were nice and well-maintained. From what I've seen, they do a very good job of constantly updating and maintaining. I have had their food. It's not like going to a restaurant, but it's not bad as far as institutional food. They have a good variety. Their food is probably better than any other nursing facility. They have an activity room and for anybody that can go down, they try to get them down to the activity room. They have some performers that come in, play the piano, and try to get them involved. Every day, there are things that go on down there. They have a beauty salon. My mom would get her haircut there, so that was very convenient. They'd make sure she got down there and had her hair cut and brought her back to her room. My biggest disappointment was that they could not provide care for her as her needs increased. They don't have a memory care unit. They said that they don't have staff to try to take care of her if she would fall, that kind of thing.

I visited Harrison House Chester County. It's an old hospital, so the building's a little older. I think the rooms could be a little bit bigger, but they have a few to choose from. Overall, it was OK. The staff was kinda minimal, but they were very pleasant, and the people I saw were very nice. Some of the rooms had a kitchenette and some didn't. They have about the same activities and amenities as others, a weight room, barbershop, and a salon, they had a nice area outside for activities. They can go outside and do shuffleboard or backgammon and all that stuff, they have an area for that.

I liked Harrison House Chester County very much. I checked it because I have a cousin and neighbor there. They're very happy and I knew the care. One is in independent living and one is in assisted living. They're very nice to their residents. I liked everything about it. You have a kitchen and a dining area, but there's no stove, only a microwave and refrigerator in the assisted living. In the independent, you have a regular apartment. Their food is very good. They have bands, music that comes in, bingo, crafts, and on Fridays, they have wine and cheese. They have big parties where all the family members can come, crafts, exercise program, and coffee. They also have therapy there.

My mother was a resident at Harrison House and had the best care a person could ask for. The nurses really know each resident. The place was very clean and all the staff go out of their way to make each person feel at home. There are plenty of activities every day and they even had a special picnic at the end of the summer for all the families and residents. The food is all homemade and delicious. This place is the best kept secret in the area. I love that it is family owned.

My mother is in a new room at Harrison Senior Living of Coatesville, and it's big enough for her. It's studio-sized or even a little bit smaller. There are med techs and nurses on the floor. We chose this place so that she could be closer to us. They have a calendar of activities. They offer to take people to different activities, and the people can say yes or no. It's up to them. The food is fairly good. My mother does say that at times it's not as hot as she would like, but she does like the food.

I have a friend at Harrison House, Coatesville. The staff is beyond nice and accommodating. They treat the residents like family. The facility is extremely clean; the activities are plentiful; and the food is good. There are a number of public rooms to sit and visit with relatives and friends beside your own room or apartment in assisted living. There isn't anything not to like about this place.

Harrison Senior Living of Coatesville was a very nice place. The one-bedroom was nice and large. They had a lot of activities. They had speakers come in, and they had a worship service. It's very clean and well laid out. It has security features where you have a card key to get on the elevator. They were very friendly, and they had access to wifi.

Harrison House has the location my brother-in-law wanted. We chose it because it has a good reputation, and he liked it there. Their staff is wonderful. The rooms are very lovely -- not really fancy -- but it fits the bill. I thought the food was excellent. They have outings too.

My grandmother is in Harrison Senior Living. My dad chooses it because it is more affordable. I think everything is fine in there. My grandmother is very adjusted and comfortable with the people around. The staff handles her with extreme care and they are always very nice. They try to make it fun too. They have a lot of food to offer. It is not just one thing that they are eating. Like today they are having roast beef, lasagna and salad and five others thing I can't think of. They also have spinach, muffin and food bowls. I don’t think they will starve there. A couple of weeks ago they have a dance. They have bus rides around time and she has a lot of fun doing that. She enjoys her stay there very much. But what impresses me the most is their residential care.

The rooms at Harrison Senior Living were nice. However, in getting to the rooms, you would have to take an elevator. I didn't like their set up.
