Frey Village was great. I had a very good tour and the two women, who were my tour guides, were wonderful. They took care of all my questions. So, everything was great. They have apartments, so if I would ever want to possibly move, I could do that. I was shown the skilled nursing rooms, the family areas where they have their meals, their recreation, and their chapel. The shared rooms looked nice. They only have a few private rooms, but it looked like everyone seemed to be happy and that they had enough space. They had courtyards, too.

the nurses need a lesson on giving meds out. most of the aides where great but some of the agency ones where terrible. i had to wait on average 15-20 minutes to get a call bell answered. it seemed after 3pm every thing went down hill, they need a new call bell system that shows it the room that it was used. house keeping was done on a daily basis. the food was good and they had a good choice if you wanted something different

My Dad was a resident in Frey Village Nursing Home for 1 1/2 yrs before he passed away in Feb. 2020. During his stay, the rooms were in the process of being renovated and turned out very nice. The facility was always clean and never smelled like a typical nursing home. The staff was phenomenal - nurses and aides alike. They took time to talk to the residents while they were providing care and always kept family members in the loop. The nursing staff was incredible - there aren't enough words to tell them how much their compassion and skill were appreciated. As busy as they always were, they always did their very best to care for their residents. My Dad had dementia, yet was included in the music events, crafts, and anything else they offered - and he enjoyed it all even though he couldn't always participate fully. Frey Village was excellent in every aspect.

Aides couldn't care less whether they actually check on patients. Saw them take a woman in a wheelchair and whip her around so fast her head snapped back. My mother had the absolute worst care. Was left by the window wearing only a diaper and a tshirt. My sister came in once and found feces smeared up her back. She came back from the dining room one night with food all over her shirt, they left her like that. If you complain, it's retaliation or Julie threatens to have you kicked out. She threatened to kick out a veteran, if he didn't just go along with her "rules". He was on military disability, if they kicked him out there was no where for him to go for rehab. Dr in charge couldn't be bothered to listen to me. My mother had severe arthritis. He took her off all her pain meds, then they wondered why she wouldn't cooperate with the physical rehab. She was in so much pain, and they kicked her out for "not participating". If you love your family member or friend at all. Go elsewhere. From what I've seen these Diakon facilities have extremely poor ratings.

This used to be one of the best facilities in the area. Now it is too top heavy. There are plenty of administrative personnel but not enough nurses and aides to meet the resident's needs. Residents have to wait for a half hour or more to get their call bells answered.
