About This Community

Neawanna by the Sea is an Independent Living & Assisted Living community that provides exceptional person-centered holistic care to residents.

Located in the heart of Clatsop County, our community is nestled near many attractions, including shopping areas, restaurants, and nearby beach access. Whether your loved one is moving in from Cannon Beach, Astoria, Portland, or anywhere else, they'll feel right at home at Neawanna by the Sea.

Independent living means you or your loved one can complete many everyday activities of daily living, but prefer access to a broader social community. When you enroll in an independent living program at one of our senior living communities, you gain access to a network of other people similar to your fellow independent seniors who enjoy the company of new friends and exciting social activities.

Access to care staff is where the value truly lies in assisted living. Residents living in assisted living facilities live in their own private rooms while receiving extra help with many different medical services from specialized care providers. These hospitality and healthcare staff members monitor residents' well-being and help keep them healthy.

We toured Neawanna By The Sea. It was a beautiful drive over there. We visited, and they were very accommodating. They gave me lots of information that I'm going to share that with my friend. They were very, very friendly. We had to wait a little bit because we came early, which was fine. We got a chance to observe the people there, how they were at lunch with the residents, and everyone was just very nice. It was a warm place to be. As we walked through the place, I liked the idea that they had lots of activities. They gave us an example of that. They also take them to doctor appointments, so that's great. They have a bus, and they take them to the store. The staff all seemed helpful, caring, and friendly. It looked like they had a lot of amenities. According to their chart, they had exercises too. The other thing that I really appreciated was that they didn't know that we lived two hours away, but they said that they were going to do booster shots this coming week. They had ordered extra and that we were welcome to come back and get a booster shot. I thought that was really nice. They had lots of activities too. The room that they showed us was nice, clean, and bright. It had a nice window with lots of light coming through. Unfortunately they didn't have any openings, but you never know when those might open up.

Our experience with Neawanna By The Sea has been great so far. The food is great, and everyone is really friendly. What stood out to me is that it seems like everybody seems happy with what they have. Some of the residents are in the building, and some have their own cottages, and I love our cottage. They have knitting and crocheting classes for the residents, the guys play poker, and some days we paint. So everybody has been pretty busy. The staff will just about do whatever you want if you ask for those services. The staff members seem nice and answers all our questions. We have a 2-bedroom, 2-bath cottage, which has a lot of room. It's a really nice senior home.

I am living in Neawanna by the Sea. I just moved. I have an independent cottage. It's like a small house. I can cook, or I can eat at the facility. It's very clean. The food and the staff are very good. They're very caring to the people. They deliver medicine. They call an ambulance when it's needed. I find nothing wrong with it. They have a long waiting list to get in. We have activities every day. There's bingo, and there are movies. There are scenic drives, there's shopping. There are all kinds of games.
