The staff at Holiday Garden Valley was very friendly in showing us through the apartment, the exercise facilities, and the dining room. Everything seemed clean. They answered any questions we had and really gave us an idea about the floor plans and prices.
The one-bedroom was very comparable. Cable and TV were included. The cost was lower, so it looked economical. The person that did the tour was cheerful. Some of the units had patios or balconies, which was kind of nice. They had a well manicured front yard with walking paths all the way around the building. They looked top-notch.

My grandparents moved into Garden Valley. I would say it's very clean, the decorations throughout the facility are very appropriate, uplifting, and colorful. The whole place just feels really clean. We haven't had a chance to try the food yet. I mean, my grandparents did a little bit last night, so I couldn't tell anything about the food. Looks like they do have a lot of activities. Yesterday I was there and they were playing bingo. Another time they had one of those cool pianos that like plays itself with the little recorded discs, another time I was there later in the evening and there were some folks just kind of sitting around a table playing a game. It looks like everybody I've seen and talked to at this point was their activities, the activities side of things, they're pretty active, which is cool to see, and they're interacting with each other a lot too, which is cool.
The only problem is they just don't have a lot of staff right now because of Covid, of course, so that's a little tough to come into a facility when they're not able to work at full capacity. There are not many there at night that can check the people regularly, and that concerns me. They're all very, very friendly, and so far very helpful. And anytime I've had a question, I can go to them and they don't seem to be put out by the fact that I'm having to bug them so that was pretty cool. And so I was able to go and chat with one of the managers several times and she didn't seem to be upset at the fact that I was OK, "I'm sorry and bugging you again. I have one more question." Overall, they're pretty good. But they're running a little thin. You've got a couple of people running around doing jobs that aren't technically their jobs because there's no one else to do it. We were trying to get the TV set up and the gentleman that usually sets up the television stuff is out with COVID. So this other gal has to step in, and she's not as knowledgeable about it. So it took us a little longer to get it set up. But she did good. She stuck with it and came when she said she was going to come, and stuck with it until the job was done instead of having to run off and do other jobs and then come back and try again. So at least she stayed focused, which was cool. It was a gorgeous building.

I went to Garden Valley. I liked it. It was in good shape and the grounds were well-kept. The staff was very nice and very informative, and she offered us lunch. It was all good. The food was very good, and they also offered quite a few options for the day. They had quite a few activities for the people. I liked the room, it was in good shape and clean.

My dad has moved into Garden Valley. They have activities every day. Their bus goes on trips once a week, and five days a week the bus is available for trips into town for shopping and various other things. I was really impressed with the way the place was laid out and how friendly the staff were. Actually, my husband and I thought we wouldn't mind living there.
The dining area reminds me of a cruise ship. It's really well laid out. The place is very clean. They have housekeeping go in once a week to clean everybody's apartments for them and, and they've got free linen service. It's just a whole lot more than I was expecting it to be.
My dad's happy there. He's on the fourth floor and it's quiet. He's still in the process of warming up to the idea that he likes having a place of his own. I don't know all the activities, but my dad had joined a beanbag baseball. They also got Bible study, Wii sports, a little area for weight training, and exercise equipment. The place is just laid out like you're on a cruise ship.
For everything that's out there, it fell within his affordability range, and I'd say it's pretty darn good for what he's paying for.
However, they need to get their elevator fixed. They're having troubles with that.

Garden Valley is a nice place. The staff was very informative. She listened to what I had to say and what I knew about my mother-in-law. She was very concerned about the care for her. The rooms were really nice. I think they would be sufficient. They had a dining room area for the family when they come in and a nice table. They also had big dining room area for the residents. It is independent living. My aunt was there, and she was independent; she could do for herself. She was totally independent, and I don't think my mother-in-law is.
They seemed to have a lot of activities going on. My aunt liked to play bunco, and they had bunco there once a week. They have a game room up above. It seemed like they had lots of activities there. They had a calendar of activities. I'm thinking it's a nice place, but it may not fit with my mother-in-law because she needs a little more care. I thought they were pretty nice people, and they were very helpful. The staff was very helpful, and she listened to what the problems were with my mother-in-law. She just decided that, 'This might not be a good fit for her. It could be temporarily, but if you start somewhere, it's best to start at a place that's going to keep her.'

Garden Valley was nice, and it was really clean. The tenants were really nice too. There was an elevator in there, they provided meals, and they have a kitchenette with a two-burner stove in each apartment. It was pretty nice.

We went to Garden Valley. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating.
We didn't look at the menu because it was during Covid, but they explained that everything was being taken to people's homes. They were renovating, but they didn't offer any 2-bedroom units. We didn't get to meet many people, either. They said they were going to put down a new carpet. Maybe it'll get improved once they get their renovation finished.

I had a very good experience with the people in Garden Valley that worked with us to try to get us to a facility we could afford. They were very nice and worked with us on many avenues. I would recommend that place to anybody. I went in and the place was clean, the people were friendly, and helpful. It was just a very good atmosphere and I was very happy with it. There is nothing other than the independent section. If they need somebody to come in, they can have that person come in to take care of them. My folks tried the food and they were very happy.

We had a very pleasant experience with Garden Valley, but we realized that we would not fit in, and there were a bunch of old people there. We're not that old yet. It was okay, I did not feel really enthusiastic or excited about it, but the staff was very nice to us. Their rooms were quite nice, but really small. The dining area was nice, they have certain scheduled meal times or meals and a fixed menu, and I didn't like that. They had a bit of exercise class, and you could go for rides, and to shopping trips .

I'm currently a resident at Garden Valley. The food is not so good; we have a lousy cook. Other than that, it's fine. The people here are not independent. I thought independent living was you live and take care of yourself, but here, they have a lot of people in wheelchairs. Some people can only get out of bed maybe once a week. The staff is great, but the cook is good friends with corporate, so he doesn't get fired; he should be fired. I have been here for two and a half months now. The rooms are great. I spent a lot of time in my room with my dog. The staff come to your room once a week and do a good job. Activities are fine. If you have doctors' appointments or need to go to the post office or the bank, the driver will take you wherever you need to go, and he picks you up too.

My tour at Garden Valley was very good, it's a wonderful place, and I couldn't ask anything better than that. The community is wonderful, they have everything anybody would ever need. The rooms are beautiful, and the person who gave me the tour was such a sweetheart. They gave us a list of the activities that they had going on for the month, and they were quite interesting. I would rate the staff a five; everybody that we ran into over there was just absolutely wonderful.

I visited Garden Valley, and it was very pleasant, and very nice. They have a dining room, which is very nice, and the food is delicious, however, it's difficult to get to the dining room. They only have one elevator, and only three people with walkers can fit the elevator. You have to leave 45 minutes before they start serving the meal to even get their on time. The rooms are very nice, some of them have been remodeled, some have a walk-in shower, and others a shower over the tub. They clean the apartment and change the bed every week. The staff is competent, cordial, and professional.

Garden Valley was very pleasant. The lady who showed me around was very good. It was very close to the theater and a small shopping area. The cleanliness of the place was excellent. There was no odor. The interior was very clean.

Connie is in Roseburg Senior Living Garden Valley. When she first went in there 2 years ago, the people went way out of their way to help her. She was back with the right doctor for her Parkinson’s that she’d had for the last 10 or 12 years who was also one of the best in the country, so that was a plus. She was able to go with them on the trips more often which was really wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for anything nicer, and at that time, it was costing her $1499 a month.
After the first year, the price went up to $1609, plus she pays another $300 for the small amount of care she gets outside the company, plus she has Parkinson’s and her medicines and they just raised the price to $1700. No matter how wonderful a place is, if they raise their rent $110 a year, nobody can afford it eventually. There have been some issues there, but the people have treated her well.

I visited Garden Valley and found everything to be in good order. My daughter lives in Roseburg. The place was very clean. Most of the people there are considerably older though, and I’m not quite ready for that yet.

Garden Valley was fine. It was a nice and clean place. I toured the whole place, and I ate there. The food was very filling and was quite good. The prices were reasonable for the services that they offered, and their service was good. They were playing bingo when I was there. They were other activities and stuff. They went on outings, and I was talking to one of the gentlemen there; he was 90 years old, and he was quite active. They cut my hair, and the person who cut it said, "You don't have to pay me," but I said, "No, I'll pay you." So I gave him 20 bucks for cutting my hair. The apartments were quite nice. My only problem with that was I would be the youngest one there. The only downside was that there was no Wi-Fi in the building. However, I liked it, and if I was 10 years older I would move in there.
