I went to Revere Court of Portland. It's a nice facility. The facility doesn't meet my needs. That's the only reason, it is a memory care facility, and that's not my immediate need. It's clean, looks like it's got a great staff from what I can recall. Everyone seems to be working in harmony with each other. When I was there, it was around lunchtime, and it just seemed to flow. It seems like they worked accordingly. They are restricted by their services, they service only memory care. If you have other needs besides memory care, that's not their priority. That obviously would not be the place.

We toured Revere Court of Portland. I liked the size of it. It wasn't a great big facility, and it was one level. The staff was very informative, helpful, and she spent a lot of time with us; it wasn't like, "Okay, here it is." and then brush us off. It appears to be very clean and well-kept. They did have an outdoor area. It wasn't really large, but at this time of year, it wouldn't be used. We didn't go into any rooms where anyone lived, but there were some empty rooms. The eating area is right in the kitchen, but it looks like a dining area. People were at lunch when we were there, and it appeared that they liked what they were eating. They talked about activities, but we didn't see a thing going on because it was lunchtime. I didn't pay much attention to it because my mom is not going to be able to participate in that. They did have a TV.

I visited Revere Court of Portland and didn't like the place at all. It was kind of like a spread-out facility that didn't feel very home-like to me and did feel a lot older. It felt very much like an insitution, and even though they had relatively new furniture, they were all covered with pads presumably in case a resident sitting there had an accident; I understand, but it just gives it a very weird feel. I didn't want to be there; I just wanted to leave. The manager there was a relatively new, polite, and nice enough man.

Golden Age Center is very clean, pleasant, airy, and bright. My husband has just been there three weeks, and he isn't really participating in anything right now. His room is big, roomy, and very nice, and it has a homey feeling.
