I liked that the laundry units at Hillside in Mcminnville were right in the bedrooms. I didn't particularly like what the windows looked out on. I went to see their assisted living and the staff was very helpful. There was no pool. I don't know if there was a gym or an exercise room. I didn't see one but that doesn't mean there wasn't any. The dining area was quite pleasant, quite inviting. The upkeep was excellent and it was near my son's home. The place is remote. The room was big but they had an odd little side room, which they call the den. I couldn't figure out what I'd put in there. It also didn't have a stove, just a microwave. They had a bank nearby, a hair salon, and they offer assistance for anything you'd need assistance for. The outdoor space is also very pleasant.

We toured Hillside, and if we get a two-bedroom, I am moving in along with my wife. The person who gave me the tour was a good "people person." Two things factored into my decision. One was that they have a quite a big campus with shaded pathways and green space, so that was the first factor. The other factor is it has a two-bedroom place; it's more expensive, but it was the only place that had it. The main draw was the nice space, and the clincher was the two-bedroom possibility. There was a movie being screened when we toured. It's one of the more upscale places in the area, so we are assuming that it has what we need. The setting is good, and the facility is what you'd expect. It's a nice place, it's not luxurious, but I don't want luxurious.

My mother moved in last month at Hillside, and she's there for assisted living. So far it has been working out really well. I like the place a lot. It's clean, the employees seem to be really knowledgeable, efficient and professional. The food seems to be pretty excellent, they have a lot of activities and transportation to places. She's in a studio, but they also have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments as well. They have activity rooms where they do some of the exercises, they have movie nights, a game room, they also have a saltwater swimming pool, a beauty shop, and they have a doctor on staff. So all of those things are why we chose this community. Among all the places I have toured, this one has the most to offer.

We had a very positive experience with Brookdale. The staff was very friendly and very informed. We saw an exercise class going on, a coffee station, a book club, and a gentleman who told us about a workshop going on. The food was nice. There were different options, and we enjoyed it. We thought the rooms had nice floor plans and lots of options.

Hillside Campus has everything that my wife and I need. We are doing fine. Their staff is marvelous, and we have become very good friends. We love the residents and the interesting conversations that we have with them. We eat dinner together and have gone places together. Our rooms has high ceilings and a beautiful view out of our front windows. There is a complete kitchen including dishwasher, a microwave and a full range stove. They have beautiful transportation vans to take us to football games and concerts. This morning, they are going to take us grocery shopping. They also provide transportation for doctors’ appointments. We would recommend Hillside Campus to other people. In fact, we have already recommended them to three other couples.

I visited Hillside Campus. I love it. It was in a beautiful setting with cottage-like individual homes without gates or fences. They have tours, and there is a small college there, so professors come in and give lectures.

I am not sure if Hillside is a place I would recommend. My parents lived there for five years until they were evicted just recently. My mom lived in their memory care unit for 2.5 years. The Caregivers and med aides were very nice to her, but the administration was another story. I never saw any of them in the memory care unit. And they had not activities for the residents in there. Just parked them in front of the television in their wheelchairs. I even talked to the facility administrator about adding some activities for those residents, but nothing ever was done. And now they are out all the money it took to get into that place.

Hillside Campus was a very nice facility. Everything seemed to be very clean. The grounds were spotless and taken care of lovely. The yard was beautiful. Their dining room looked fine. The interior was luxurious. However, my brother and sister-in-law would not have fit or felt comfortable into that type of environment. They're very conservative people. It was just a place that they wouldn't fit in.

I moved my mother-in-law to Hillside in November. It has been very good, very positive. It is a lockdown facility. They had a large walking area for the memory care so that she could get out safely. They have four different areas to eat. The restaurant is fabulous. As it gets up to the unit, it's not as good but it's fine. It's very, very expensive. It's twice the cost but at this time, it's worth it.

went to Hillside in order to see my Great-Aunt. My Great Aunt had a history of major illnesses, and had nearly died from Bronchitis the year before she started staying at Hillside. Due to this, and other factors she was a very grumpy women. At the one assisted-living facility she stayed in before Hillside, she was convinced the nurses had been stealing change from her. Thankfully, she had a completely different experience at Hillside. She told me that all of the caregivers were very nice to her, and from what I saw, I have to agree. The incident that stands out most in my mind, is when one of the nurses saw my aunt wandering off the premises, instead of asking her where she was going, the nurse walked with my aunt for about 45 minutes. Little things like this have convinced me that Hillside, and being close to us, are the main reasons why my Great-Aunt passed so peacefully.

My wife and I began looking into retirement communities two years ago. Since that time we have visited many in the state of Oregon. Our move in date is in the future but have decided Hillside best fits all of the needs we have as a couple. There are no negatives we have discovered in our search here from the sales, office personnel, front office personal, and and including the wonderful meals. A big thing that really impressed me was how many people were friendly to my wife and all the activities she can be involved in if she desires. Our move in date is a few months away so our journey is just beginning. Dan and Jean Simonsen

Before my Grandmother died she lived at Hillside in McMinnville, Oregon. With her old age she was really picky about who took care of her and how active the other residents were. Both of those aspects exceeded our expectations, my Grandmother really took to the nurses that she worked with and even made some friends with the other patients that were living there. The facility was smoothly run, nurses joked with the patients just enough to lighten them up. The numerous times that I visited the facility I was impressed by the food that was being fed to the patients, the cleanliness of the rooms and facility as a whole. The entire staff was friendly, the rooms were well lit and had a perfect amount of natural light, the design of the space made it feel like home.
