We fell in love with the apartment at Fircrest Senior Living. It's beautiful and had a balcony that overlooked the airport of McMinnville. The manager was absolutely fabulous, very friendly, open, led us around, and wants us there. We can take our dog, which is important. They showed me a two-bedroom, but my dad is moving into a studio this coming weekend. They offered three meals a day and had transportation to shopping, doctors, and planned outings. It's the best price for a beautiful, brand-new apartment. The kitchen was all done in stainless steel.

The care received from the staff at FirCrest for my mother was impeccable. Her room was beautiful, they were very attentive to not only her needs, but to the needs of our family. The compassion shown to my family as my mom spent her last days there was irreplaceable.

My husband is at Fircrest. It is right across the street from where I am. He moved there January 1st. I don't think that Fircrest is very good. My husband doesn't like to go down to where they get all together because he can't understand what they're saying. So he just stays in his room all the time and he says nobody talks to him. When I first went there, the staff was just in his room all the time to see if he needed anything, but now they don't do that. My husband said the other night he rang his bell and nobody came. I am really disappointed with this facility. Some of the staff members are very good and some of them are just there. My husband is in a nice big room that he shares with another man and there is just one bathroom. He has bed that is bigger than a twin bed and they furnished most of the furniture. They have a walk-in bathtub and he liked that really well because he is in a lot of pain. When we first went in there, they were good about letting him take that all the time if they had someone there with him, but they don't do that anymore either. It seemed like if you ask for some special care, you will get it, but then they don't continue it. They just further neglect to do that. Also they don't have any physical exercises for them. The food is so overcooked, it was like mush. They don't furnish fresh vegetables and salads, so I think that sort of not very good nutrition.
