My parents are at The Springs at Clackamas Woods. They're very good. They're #1, top of the line. If they had an outbreak, we would be contacted immediately and let us know what the steps were. They're at the forefront of doing air testing and doorknob testing and things like that, to see if there's any virus. They're very proactive and I'm very pleased with them. They have independent, assisted and memory care, so it's the whole spectrum. We originally toured before COVID, and they had tons of activities. They could even go out on the bus and go on different activities. They had a lot of acitivities inside, that's why my parents wanted to go there, but COVID hit and everyone had to stay in their rooms.
We can't t go visit yet. We can only visit through the window and we can take them to doctors' appointments, but if they come out for any kind of get-together, they'd have to be quarantined for seven days and then they'd have a COVID test. They've had a total of 2-3 cases in their independent and 1 in their assisted, but besides that they've done a good job. The activities were originally pretty good. They have a little 1-bedroom apartment. It's just like any apartment and every time someone moves out of there, they redo the carpet. They just made a movie theater for them, although nobody can go in yet.
The staff is very attentive. My dad always says that there's always somebody checking on them or doing something. They clean the rooms daily and empty their garbage daily. They check temperatures and doing everything they need to do. My parents never complain that they're being neglected at all. They do their laundry for them and change their bedding for them once a week, and they also do deep cleaning once a week. The staff is really good, but unfortunately in that industry, it's a transitory position and they move on to something else, so he says they're always training somebody. I haven't had to go and complain to anybody. I can't go in, but they've always been nice to me at the door. I think they're getting good value, and they're in the same room, so it's not expensive as getting separate rooms.

My aunt is a resident of The Springs at Clackamas Woods. Everything is going well, and she hasn't had a complaint so far. They staff is doing what they can do. I had a meal there with my aunt, and they provided a good amount of food. The dining area is open into a common area, so it's nothing fancy. They have activities, like games and storytelling.

The Springs at Clackamas Woods was a really nice place. The rooms were really nice, clean, and updated. They seemed private even if it was a shared bathroom and had a living room area. The dining area had tables that made it feel more like a home rather than a cafeteria. The people were really nice, very friendly, and very accommodating.

This one I had known about because of friends who lived there years ago, and somebody else from the place he was at recommended The Springs. I wasn’t as impressed with it. The food was the best food we ever had; they got very good food. The people were very friendly, but the main building was for independent living, and then they had individual 12 apartment cottages for the assisted living that were separate, and your meals, activities, everything were in those cottages, which didn’t give as much opportunity to make friends. However, they could go to the main building for meals, activities, and all, but that was a little harder for him. It was nice, and I liked the little communities, but that was not good for who we were moving. Alcohol was available, which was a problem for the person we were moving. He needed to stay away from alcohol because it interferes with medication so bad, so that was a little thing that I kind of was not pleased about. It was a wonderful location.

The Springs at Clackamas Woods was a really nice facility. They had a workout room. The food was wonderful. It was absolutely outstanding. They had a lot of activities. The lady who showed us around was not exactly the friendliest person, but the people who lived there were nice. It was a gorgeous facility, and they had a nice library.

My wife was at The Springs at Clackamas Woods on their assisted living for a year and a half. I didn't like much of anything about that place. I thought it was poorly managed, and they didn't have direct supervision of some of their activities. They need to improve on the management.

The Springs is a lovely facility with warm and caring staff members. Great care is taken to keep it updated and clean and every staff person I have met has been helpful and friendly. I wish they made a bigger effort to involve newcomers more as it is so hard for elderly people to make new friends. I also wish there were a few more activities run by the staff on a regular basis like the book club (which is member run and doesn't meet in the summer) more game times, discussion groups on current topics, small field trips, etc. Wii bowling, putting and bingo don't interest everyone. In the dining room the meals stop at 6:00 PM which is really early for a lot of folks and the food is somewhat bland. That being said, there is a lot of choice in food and the dining staff are GREAT!

I love The Springs! I toured it and it’s wonderful. I know several friends that live there and they speak very highly of the place. I like that the place is clean and they have multilevel of care which is what I was looking in a facility. They have many activities. They have a garden area for their residents to garden if that is what they choose to do. They will take them to shopping and I loved it.

We've looked at The Springs at Clackamas over in Milwaukee. The apartment part of it was really nice, they've got a little patio, and it's reasonably priced, but the assistance part was separate from the facility which I didn't like.

I really liked this assisted living facility. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be working there and helping out the residents. They were always very welcoming. The facility was always putting on different activities for the residents to join in on, if they wished. They had a cute little "store" there where the residents could buy essential products. If the residents wanted to go shopping, they had a shuttle that would take them to the store. The room that my grandfather was in was a good sized apartment. I wouldn't have minded living there! I always felt like my grandpa was safe living there. I really liked that he had an alert remote that he could carry around with him in his apartment. If he fell and he was alone and needed help getting up, he could alert the staff by pressing the button on that remote. The facility was always very clean and well maintained.

This facility, which offers assisted living and memory care, is a very nice place, decorated in pastel colors and tasteful, homey furniture.
When you first enter, it can be a little confusing if you don't know your way around, although there are usually friendly people nearby to help guide visitors. Security is good"”and there are codes assigned to every door.
The resident rooms are quite spacious and the staff works with family members to get them as individualized and as homey as possible, with pictures and other personal effects.
In the memory care unit, located at the back of the building, the residents seem high functioning. The rooms are immaculate and feel welcoming, again with residents' pictures and personal touches. There is a good staff to resident ratio.
The food served, prepared by an onsite chef, is fresh and appealing, and special food requests are usually accommodated. Common areas include a beauty shop, puzzle room and pool room.
The staff members seem helpful and nice"”and very attentive. They keep the residents clean and well groomed, talk with them respectfully, and take a personal interest in them. One of the nurse's has a father who lives there, which is a good sign.
Most of the residents seem to be fairly high-functioning, including those in memory care"”although hospice is also welcomed.
The cost is pricey"”from $7,000 to $8,000 monthly. The facility is also pet-friendly, which is a plus for many people.
