I like Holiday Edgewood Downs, but they only have one studio available right now. The price is reasonable in my opinion, but my mom thinks it's a little too high. My mom is also concerned that it might be just a little bit too small. They have larger units (nothing available), but the price is considerably higher. I love the staff. I was very impressed. There was somebody there to greet me as soon as I got there. They were ready for me. I had a meeting with the general manager. They also invited me for lunch, which I declined because I was not ready for lunch. As we sat and talked, I saw plenty of residents up and about and intermingling. As we took the tour, a lot of the residents would pass by and they knew the general manager by name. He knew the residents by name, too. The facility was nice and clean, and it smelled really good. I was impressed with the cleanliness. I had read a couple reviews, and they said stuff about it being outdated. I live in an apartment that's outdated. Holiday Edgewood Downs was more updated than my outdated apartment, so I was impressed with the updates that they had done. I got to see the guest suite, which was a two-bedroom apartment. The one they had available is a studio apartment. They were little apartments with an indoor corridor, and they were very well-kept. I looked at their activity schedule. They have activities scheduled seven days a week. There were some exercise classes that they said I could come and join with my mother. I could also join her for meals. They charge $5 a person, which I think is incredibly reasonable. If we're going to have more than a couple of people, they said to just let them know. They can make sure that they have a table ready. They also include transportation five days a week, two days a week for doctors' visits, two days a week for shopping, and potential excursions on Wednesdays. They have linen service available once a week. I dropped back in on Edgewood unannounced. I had the general manager greet me, and the sales manager meet me. The sales manager spent an hour or more with me and gave me another tour. We spoke a lot about mom and a lot about me. She was concerned that this has to be the right move for both of us. She said that if it doesn't work, it's probably not meant to be. If it does work, then it is. I had talked to my mom after that and ended up calling back the sales manager. I asked her to send some additional information to my mother and my sister. She did that all last night. I was thoroughly impressed with Edgewood Downs. While I was in the dining area, the residents were having lunch. It was delightful to listen to the people. Everybody was talking nice and quiet. They were having a good time. It seemed like they were having a very pleasant dining experience.

The rooms at Holiday Edgewood Downs were small. There were no cooking facilities in the room. They have limited time to eat within a specific time. The parking is first come, first served, although there was quite a bit of parking. They have very limited storage, and the closets are small. The staff referred us to a public storage facility down the road where you would pay every month. The grounds were more of just a parking lot and three buildings. It's across the street from a golf course. It is on a very busy street. You can walk behind it into the neighborhood. There was an enclosed area in the park-like area, but there was no place to walk around. They gave everybody those things you wear around your neck, like a medical thing. They mentioned one of the ladies was out walking and fell, so she was able to push her button and get help to come and pick her up. That was the only advantage I saw there. The rooms were very nice, updated, and modern.

Edgewood Downs was very nice. We had a very positive tour experience with lots of information and options offered to us. They were very accommodating. They have shuttle services, church services of a variety of different denominations, the meals are provided, and the whole slew of activities that come and go. Music comes in regularly, as well as good entertainment in culture there, it seemed. The building could probably use some updates and modernization. It's an older building a little bit, once you walk through it. It has a nice entryway and stuff, but it's an older building. The facility was super clean. They also mentioned that they do things like hiking and trips to the coast. The amenities are pretty basic, there's a walking path around the facility itself that somebody could walk around the building. But it doesn't offer more than just a nice place to live with indoor amenities. But there's nothing extracurricular, which in our case was what we were looking for.

Edgewood Downs doesn't have assisted living. It was a very nice facility, but not appropriate. It was very nice, and it was kind of like a hotel. They have two courtyards. They were friendly, and they have a meal plan. If you're in good health, it seemed like a really nice place. The staff was fine. We only talked to one person. We were only there about 15 minutes, so it was a very quick visit. It seemed really nice. The staff was very nice. They had a dining room and a library. The rooms were quite nice. They could allow pets.

I'm staying at Edgewood Downs. I have only been here a few days and I have found it quite satisfactory. I like the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. I like the apartment that I have. It is light and airy with lots of scenery around. The food could use some improvement though. Things are so different because of COVID, but now it is kind of getting back to going to the dining room. The food has been served in the rooms for the last long while, so it is not the same as congregating in the dining room and getting acquainted with more people. That is not a negative, that is just the way it is. I have not had housekeeping yet. I have only been here a few days, but the facility is sparkling clean. However, I think it's overpriced from my experience so far.

I moved into Edgewood Downs. I like it very much, and I have had no disappointments with anything that I've encountered here. The people are very kind and conscientious. If I've had any surprises since I've moved in here they've all been good ones, things I didn't expect, and it's been better than I expected. They're all excellent, they're family, they're conscientious, they're knowledgeable, and very helpful. The activities are fairly limited right now, but there's always something you can do if you choose to do it.

The tour at Edgewood Downs was good. The staff who gave the tour was very nice. Their rooms were a little dated and smaller than what my in-laws are looking for. It's an older community so it's just a little bit dated. Their dining area is one big room, but the problem with that is that if you only have 1 room to eat in and you're hard of hearing, it's hard to hear. They also offered a variety of food to the residents but it wasn't a huge variety. It's certainly a fine community but it just wasn't quite right for my in-laws, and it offers a lot. They have the services that everybody did. The one thing I noticed when I walked in was that it's a little dark, and it felt a little gloomy.

I live in Edgewood Downs. It's a good apartment house, and the meals are included. The food is adequate, the staff is very good, and they have a number of activities. The rooms are ordinary. They provide housekeeping, movies, social events, coffee breaks, and ice cream socials.

Edgewood Downs is very good. They have friendly people and good management. They have bingo, bridge games, and a theater. They have a number of activities, but there is very few equipment for working out. There were only about six or seven pieces of equipments. I am also concerned about its location. The only thing going on for it is the shopping center, which is about half a mile away, and the golf course right across the street.

My mom moved into Edgewood Downs in September. Everything I can think of or say about it is good, including the staff, the facility, the building, and the residents. They care about the residents. The dining area is excellent. The food is excellent. They have a salon and a library. They do weekly trips like taking residents to special places. I used to be a worker of a very large senior care facility in Seattle, which had many more residents and was way bigger, and this small place provides as much, and in some cases, more than the big facility I used to work for.

Edgewood Downs was nice, but they don't have full kitchens which was a big drawback. The staff was very friendly, and the grounds were very nice. They were remodeling, and it was nice. It was light and cheery and not dark. They take the people down to an extra warm pool down the road, which is nice for those with arthritis.

Edgewood Downs was nice, but I am not ready to make a move at this time. It was clean, and the people were nice but a lot older than me, so I was uncomfortable. Everybody seemed happy. The dining area looked very clean and nice.

Edgewood Downs is more institutional, and I didn't like it. The staff was really nice and friendly, but the place felt old and institutional. The rooms were adequate.

Edgewood Downs was really nice, and we have friends who live there, but the problem was that the units didn't have kitchens. They served all three meals, and the price was good. We had lunch there, but we were not terribly impressed with the meals. The place didn't suit our needs at all. It didn't come close. They had a lot of interesting activities and so forth.

I understand Edgewood Downs is going to be upgraded, but it's a little far away from all of the things that would be interesting for me, and the rooms were small. The staff was very friendly, and the manager was terrific. We met the chef, and he explained a lot of their cooking facilities and how they do their own food.

Edgewood Downs was very nice, but the rooms were too small. We had lunch and talked with a very nice gentleman who lives there. He gave us insight on the place, but we did not see any of the activities because it was right at lunchtime.

We placed dad at Edgewood Downs back in February. We like it because it is affordable. They have activities, and he does bean bag baseball and a bunch of outings when they go out. They serve three meals, but he only eats two. The place itself is a little old but in decent shape. The staff is really nice.

I found Edgewood Downs to be a little bit depressing. The staff who assisted me during the tour was fine. I saw a room, and I find it depressing too. I would not want my parents to stay in this facility.

During my visit in Edgewood Downs, I was attracted to the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They were very helpful. The rooms and apartments looked good. It was obvious that the maintenance of the community was very good. They offered me a meal, but I didn't have time to eat, so I refused. The dining room was finely set up. I didn't see any activities, but they had an activities director. Overall, the consistency and persistence of the managers was impressive. We appreciate their sincerity to help us.

Britney, the manager, was an absolute doll. She went above and beyond trying to help us out and went out of her way to go up and see my mom. I was just amazed. I was absolutely overwhelmed by her generosity and willingness to try and make things happen for my mom. I only saw the one room that my mom was going to try which was a clean studio. It didn’t have a bedroom. It was just one room with a bathroom. She was starting to get some furniture gathered to put in there so that she wouldn’t have to bring anything. It was neat, tidy, and nice. The dining room is spacious, warm, and inviting. I didn’t get to try any of their meals, but they assured me that they have a great chef and that their food is quite good. Because of Britney, I would give it a 4-star rating.

Edgewood Downs was very nice but too small. The living room has a coffee table, couch, chair and TV. You could not put more in there without it looking too cluttered. We stayed overnight in the guest room. Our bed would not fit in there and my husband couldn’t get his wheelchair up against the bed except at the foot, so the bedroom was very tiny. We need a facility that has at least a 1,000 square feet; this has 750 square feet with two bedrooms. The people were wonderful, but it just would not have worked. I don’t think we could manage it there with our needs: the wheelchair and our 60-pound dog. The corners were very tight to have to push the portable wheelchair around. It just wouldn’t work for us, but it would be great for one person. It wasn’t realistic for us. The kitchen was just tiny with a microwave and a tiny sink at maybe eight inches square, and did not have an oven or stove. It was just pretty uncomfortable. The room looked out to a parking lot of a school which wasn’t terribly enlightening. It just wasn’t a good fit for us at all.

Mom has been at Edgewood Downs for the last six weeks now. We chose it because it was clean. The people were very friendly and personable. They looked happy and smiling. They have a chapel and a hairdresser on site. They also have a little store on site. The activities that they have were movies and different activities planned in the facility. Three meals a day was also included as well as snacks. They have nursing on site, so if you are worried and have concerns about your loved one, you can call them, and they will do a welfare check as well as be available for any medical needs.

I visited Edgewood Downs, and I thought it was OK. What I looked at was the studio, and it appeared to be clean; it didn’t smell or anything when I walked in which can happen to some of those facilities, and I received all the answers that I wanted.

I visited this community and I was impressed. Although the community is older, they do a wonderful job of making the environment comfortable for the resident's. It made me feel like I was visiting my Mom. The other communities in the area looked and felt more hotel like. The woman who took me around was great. She seemed like she really cared about the folks who lived there. She was very helpful when explaining what my nexts steps for my Mom should be. I am still looking around but haven't found any other community in which I felt that comfortable. It was explained to me that they are like a big family and I felt it while there. I had lunch there and it was served restaurant style and the food was GREAT! I will be showing my mother 3 places when she visits me and Edgewood Downs is currently top on my list.

Edgewood Downs was terrible. I thought the lady who took me around did not show me any of the merits. I was very disappointed in the tour. The food was Ok, but not very good and not to my liking. I like to eat restaurant style, not cafeteria style. The rooms were terrible. Absolutely awful. They need to be upgraded. They were fine 30 years ago, but they're passé now. And I think they needed more buses for trips, as they can only take 16 people at a time. The food should be restaurant style rather than the way it was. I would never move there.

The staff at Edgewood Downs seemed to be pretty good. It is assisted living, and she's not ready for assisted living. She takes care of herself and everything is fine, but this is not the place she wants to be in because they have Alzheimer's people walking around and she's not like that. They have a church gathering on Sundays. They have people come in and sing. They have a little craft sales going on, but my sister doesn't do much with them because she doesn't like it there. She was kind of put in a place that she doesn't fit in. I really was not impressed by what I've seen.

Edgewood Downs is very positive in their approach. They have good follow-up. The staff has been wonderful. As a matter of fact, when I had my surgery two weeks ago, one of the staff members came and he was a former minister and he prayed with me. They're very, very friendly and people-oriented and even knowing that I'm not going to move there anytime soon, they invite me to different activities. I've had lunch out there when something is going on and so they've been just wonderful to us. I know part of it is the marketing but most of it, though, comes from the heart. The rooms looked very promising. The places are clean and well kept, lots of activities. The food has been good every time I went or had a meal. It?s been a positive experience.

I was very impressed with Edgewood Downs. It's very clean, the environment is nice and it's very pleasant to be in. The lady that showed me around was very, very nice and congenial and she showed me some of the rooms. They have a very nice restaurant, lounges where people could sit and watch TV, and a music area. There are activities every day, outings, or something for people to do. I was quite impressed. The cost include maid service, linen changing, and meals. They also have a salon and a little shop. They have everything you could ever want. It was a comprehensive facility. I would recommend this place.

I moved my mother into Edgewood Downs a little over a year ago. It is an independent care facility, so each resident has their own apartment which range from studios to 2 bedrooms. Included in the quite reasonable monthly rent are 3 meals a day, snacks throughout the day, all kinds of activities, bus transportation to shopping and doctor appointments, once a week housecleaning which also includes fresh sheets, and all utilities are included even cable tv. The only utility you have to pay for on your own is your phone service. They take the residents on some great bus trips to places like Spirit Mountain casino, Bonneville dam, picnic areas, holiday concerts, and scenic drives, just to name a few. Another plus are the special speakers who come in to talk about senior related issues. My mom loves the music performances and singers that come in from time to time and really appreciates how the managers decorate so beautifully for all the special occasions. It makes her feel very appreciated and cared for. The staff has been very helpful and truly care about the residents. They have went above and beyond many times, especially when my mom had just moved here from CA and had tons of questions, concerns as she was completely new to Oregon. At Edgewood Downs you can choose to be as active as you want or just relax in your apartment or the library. Lots of residents enjoying putting together puzzles in the activity room, playing billiards, joining the exercise classes or enjoying movie nights on the big screen tv. My mother has been extremely happy there. She especially loves her beanbag baseball team. They even have team shirts and travel to different facilities to compete. I have eaten there many times and the food has been excellent. The head chef takes pride in all he does and many times will come around to the tables himself to make sure every one is happy. If you don't like the main dish, they always have some very nice substitutes. The grounds are kept beautifully with lots of color in the hanging planters over the summer. The courtyard area is nice for sitting and relaxing and my mother loves to show me the beautiful multi colored roses when they are blooming. If I had to say anything negative it would be that lots of the residents use walkers and the main elevator is too small to accomodate more than 3 or 4 people at a time. But other than that, no complaints. We truly made a great decision choosing Edgewood Downs.
