If you need very little to no assistance and are okay with elementary school quality food then this place is the place for you. For my mother however, it was a terrible experience. They are cheap as hell so the food quality is terrible and they pay no attention to diabetic needs. They constantly run understaffed to reduce cost while paying their employees terribly low wages for the work and responsibilities they have. They’ll try to blame this on covid and not being able to find employees but this went on well before all that started so it’s bs. My mom was left on the toilet waiting for assistance for 30-60 minutes or longer on probably upwards of 40-50 times in the 2 years she was there because of understaffing. There are many more problems beyond this but the last one I’ll mention is that she also had her insulin and needle tips stolen from her room. This is a terrible place for people that need actual assisted living.

My mother is at Bonaventure Senior Living - Salem. She has a one-bedroom apartment, a large bedroom, a large bathroom and a small living room kitchen combination. I have had no bad interaction with the staff at all. I don't have bad experiences with them. They have an on-site beauty parlor and she does go up there and get her hair done every week. She goes down to the dining room to eat her meals. They have several different activities going on there. The independent living part has a theater, a library, an exercise room, game rooms, and two bars. I've eaten there twice, and it's adequate. They have one meal that's cafeteria style but you have other options if you want. The food is geared toward elderly people who may have medical issues, so to me it's rather bland. The main reason I chose it was it's a very nice building. It's also close to where she used to live and she has several friends there that were elderly. I thought it was more convenient for them to go by and visit her rather than have them to drive across town or so.

Bonaventure Senior Living was excellent. The people were nice and friendly. The place seemed very clean. The assisted living room was lovely. The facilities were beautiful. The dining room seemed nice. We did have lunch there. The food wasn't any good though, and I don't think my mom would have liked it.

My mom moved in the facility in Salem when it opened. She was in independent living until February 2017. Her apartment was never clean. I was very disappointed for how much we paid!! In February Ashe moved into assisted living. Each month the cost seems to be rising because they fill she has needs more care. So, they now lay out clothes and do her laundry. I picked her up Tuesday to go to the dentist and she was in dirty pants! This is completely unacceptable. I was feeling that house cleaning should be better, well it is not!! I am extremely disappointed!! Currently looking to move her!! Only reason I gave two stars was because most of the people and staff are ver nice there.

My father-in law moved into Bonaventure of Salem. We were very impressed with the appearance. However, they failed to tell us that there was a move-in fee of $5,000, and we were under the misconception that they would check on him more. The staff has always been friendly. He seems to be enjoying the food.

Bonaventure is great all way around, and my father actually was there but we had a problem with their billing. My daughter is a hair stylist, and she had a few of her clients who have their parents there were talking about being overbilled. They have everything from beauty shop to a recreation room. They have a room where the residents can go in and plant flowers and a garden shop. They play cards, they had a bar area, and happy hour once a week. They also had great meeting rooms; it got really good care there. It was a little higher, but it was spotlessly clean and really good to the family.

Great community and great Staff!! I've had my mom here in the memory care for over a year now and she loves it. There has been some rough times, but I'm fortunate that the Program Director we have now was able to revamp memory care and give my mom's quality of life a better value. I am very thankful for her and the crew she brought on board to care for my mom.

We moved Mom to Bonaventure and don't have any complaints as everything has been very good and they seem to be taking good care of her. Their dining room is very nice.

My mom was in Bonaventure. They were pretty good. The staff was nice. The food was OK, but not really good. The sanitation, I thought, was fine. The room was good. It was fine. She had a one-bedroom unit.

My parents are at Bonaventure of Salem. They have been there for almost a month now. It is very nice. It is a newer facility. It has lots of open areas. It is a small place, but there are a lot of places inside here that they can go, like a movie theater. The rooms are a little bigger with taller ceilings. They just feel much more open.

The facility was beautiful, they really offered much for the senior. Unfortunately, it was too expensive for me. I gave them 4 stars as the dinner was poor. The gentleman that gave me the tour was very informative, and helpful.

Bonaventure of Salem was very nice. I like it a lot. The staff gave us a good tour. They took us into somebody's room because they didn't have any vacancies. It was very nice. It was more spacious than a lot of them. It was a bedroom and living room type thing. They showed us various activity areas and such. They have an exercise room and card tables. At that time, they were playing some floor game with bean bags. They also have like a classroom. They have two sets of dining rooms, which were very nice. Also the hallways were nice, and people were friendly. In the entry area, they have a little nice area where you can order coffee and drinks and such. Parking was good too. However, one thing I had a problem with was that they wanted $5000 to come in, which was not refundable. It was just like an admission fee. Also they didn't want people that needed to be assisted eating in their dining room, but they didn't want you to get trays in your room either.

We moved our parent into this facility when it first opened and haven't had any positive experiences. The facility is terribly understaffed and the turn over is extremely high. The meal service is horrible - terrible food and long waits. Our parents have housecleaning cleaning service which includes laundry, but our parents place looks dirty. We have contacted the director and assistants at Bonaventure many times with our concerns and got answers but no changes were made. We eventually contacted Oregon Adult Services though the state. The Oregon Adult Services was currently aware of issues and said the facility was under review. We are terribly disappointed as moving our parents again would be difficult.
