We've been in Rogue Valley Manor for four years now. It's a large community and there are 900-plus residents here, so there are a lot of people to pick from to be friends or to have time with. The apartments are very nice, but we're in a house, and it is very nice because the woman that was here before had put about $30,000 in it and remodeled it. The surroundings are beautiful and well manicured. There are a lot of gardeners taking care of the grounds. It's very nice, and the location is good. You can't walk to the store because there are a lot of hills, unless the bus takes you down to shop, which they do, but in Covid-19, nobody's doing anything. You have to pay to have your things delivered to the main office if you don't drive. We're in independent living, but they have everything here. They have nursing care and memory care. It's a CCRC.

Rogue Valley Manor was fabulous, but they have a buy in. It's a beautiful place, and they have great cottages, apartments, restaurants, food, and staff. The food was fabulous. They have independent, assisted living, and memory care facilities. The staff was great, very helpful, and very friendly. The building was superb.

Rogue Valley Manor was beautiful. You can start out as independent in a standalone home or you can be in a high-rise apartment. It’s excellent, very clean, beautiful, and very high class. The staff was very helpful, very knowledgeable, and well trained. They had gardens you could work in and several restaurants. They were playing volleyball in this beautiful swimming pool that had no smell of chlorine; it had evaporated sea salt, which was absolutely necessary. If it were in a different location, perhaps we would be serious about it, but it was just too far from where we needed to be.

I really liked Rogue Valley Manor, but I couldn't afford it. It's wonderful, elegant, and the food was good. Every room had a view, because it's a skyrise apartment building. However, there wasn't much variety of rooms, unlike other places. You set them up for yourself when you go in, and it's not affordable for me. I can't come up with the money to do the remodeling that is required. I was able to try the food, and it was wonderful. They have a chef that uses local vegetables. They have a variety of activities, like you can imagine. They've got a swimming pool, bocce ball, and bowling onsite.

Rogue Valley Manor has a very good program. It has lovely grounds and was just upscale -- everything. I really had the desire to do this, but you leave nothing for your heirs when you go into the Rogue Valley Manor. It is all about you, and I think you are just giving it away to someone you don't know. The staff was so cooperative and helpful.

My problem with Rogue Valley Manor is they were too large, and I felt they were very much an institution. I felt that the residents there would have no control and no influence over decisions made there. The other thing is they had all these activities and fancy facilities, and no one was using them. We were there for three days. I saw some men in the swimming pool, that's it. They had a woodshop, a crafts room, and physical therapy rooms. No one was there. They have all these facilities that they spend people's money on, but they didn't seem to be well-used. Right now, there are over a thousand residents there, way too many in my mind for a personal touch. One of the pluses was they had three different dining rooms, so you had a choice. It seemed to be clean. The accommodations we were given were very comfortable.

This facility is incredible! The Manor is very large, I'm not certain exactly how many acres but certainly over 500. There's three different several-story buildings on top of a big hill overlooking the Rogue Valley, and many individual cottage homes scattered about the hill's sides. There is a golf course adjoining the Manor, and a seperate one adjacent to it as well. My friend Doug lives in a cottage, and he and his wife Sharon love it. The Manor provided many upgrades when they moved in, and now his cottage is nicer (and newer) then my house! Doug and Sharon are always encouraging me to move up to Southern Oregon so we can be neighbors again, but my children are too far South to make such a move worth it. That being said, after several visits with my friends, I can't honestly think of a better place to retire on the West Coast. Perhaps when I'm older...

This place is wonderful and up to date. The facilities are modern and provide an array of different living situations, medical care and places to occupy the residents' time, from a golf course to a gym. The living situation has different stages. Residents usually start out in their own house on the property. Once their physical state worsens, they are moved up to different care levels in the manor. They'll be taken care of until they die. For a retirement community, it's an upbeat place and most people seem to really prize the friendships they have made there.
