About This Community

You will have an opportunity to make your contribution to our family, which makes Timber Pointe Senior Living the distinctive place that it is – it is people that make a community. We recognize that people make all the difference. Treating people well – with respect, trust, care, and good humor – can be quite contagious.

Timber Pointe Senior Living is a place of vibrancy and life-promoting meaning and joy in the lives of residents, families, and our team members. Elders inspire us, motivate us, guide, and direct us. As we work to create an empowering, caring, growing culture for elders, we are also creating our own future. After all, we are all elders-in-waiting!

Many independent seniors may decide to join us at Timber Pointe Senior Living because they want to enjoy the benefits of living in a social community. You’ll enjoy the opportunities of a social environment while staying independent of care as long as you like or are able. If or when you might need some assistance, you have a support system and care team at the ready that already know you, your preferences, and your personality—and you know them!

Although regulations vary from state to state, assisted living provides a wide array of services designed to keep an elder as independent as possible, for as long as possible. In most cases, assisted living helps seniors stay more active, social, and engaged in life than they otherwise would be living alone. Not to mention the added security of 24-hour staff, assistance with medications, and communication between healthcare providers.

We found Timber Pointe for my parents. We chose Timber Pointe because they had a two-bedroom assisted living apartment available. That's what we were looking for, and that was the only place in the area that had a two-bedroom, and a place that was available. We took a tour and all the areas were very clean. They were actually renovating the apartment that was becoming available for my parents. So that was very nice, because they'll have new carpet, new flooring, new paint, and everything. They do have a kitchen area, a library, a game area, and the dining room. I met one staff member, but my sister met others, and most of them had been there a very long time, which I think was a good sign. The administrator and the head of maintenance have been there for over 20 years, so we like that about the place.

One of the biggest things about the Timber Pointe is that the rooms are bigger. It seemed like the people there were out and about more, so that's pretty much why I liked it compared to some other facilities. The staff did a really nice job. They greeted us at the door, took us for a nice tour, and showed us the rooms. The facility was really nice and clean. The hallways were kind of long to get to the main dining room, but that's about the only drawback that I could see to it. They have a microwave in the room. They don't have a pool, but they have a courtyard.

Everything at Brookdale Springfield Briarwood was nice. The food was good and appealing. The staff seemed to be very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The rooms seemed very nice and had adequate space for one person. The hallways were kind of long to get from the rooms to the dining area or library. I noticed some cobwebs and a few areas needed touch up paint.

I visited Brookdale, and it was wonderful. They were very friendly, and they worked really hard to get my dad in there. It was the most perfect place I'd seen.

Our once lovely community is now gone. New management thinks people would love to discuss finances at the front desk. The bus well forget that now everyone schedule your appointment between 9 and 3. Activities are a joke now we miss Val. The staff is jumping ship and the community is constantly running out of things. But yes the rent has gone up up up.

We had a pleasant visit at Brookdale Springfield Briarwood. We are actually going back to talk to the administration because we are putting my mom in there. We like that place. The apartment would suit her needs; it is handicap accessible, and it is nice, clean, and tidy. They've got a very nice selection of food options, and the residents seem to really enjoy it. The cooks there are even willing to take in family recipes and be able to make them for the entire community at any given time. They're very receptive to the needs of the residents. The staff is very friendly and very understanding of the intricacies of this type of a challenge. Their pricing is reasonable; it is about the same as most of the places in the area.

At Brookdale Springfield Briarwood, I like the idea that if you run out of money, you could move into at the next level of care and you could go into Medicaid where you get a subsidy from the government. So if your money runs out, you could still stay there. Also just by looking at the menu, the food looked wonderful.

Emeritus at Springfield Campus looked very neat, clean, and nice. It was just overwhelming to my wife because it's too big. They have different kinds of choices with regards to the rooms – they have studio apartments up to single room apartments. The staff were friendly; they were okay.

We just moved in here in Emeritus Springfield. We heard a lot of good things about this facility and we're pretty well satisfied. It is also close to our children and to our church.

This is a beautiful facility with caring workers. The two issues that have come up for us are: 1) because of the economy they have made continues staff cuts. There are things that dont' get done as often or are not being offered now- ex. the facility no longer offers assistance with hanging pictures and the garbage doesn't get taken out often enough. 2) The food is a common complaint because of very few fruits and vegetable, high starch/high carb/high sodium. The everyday workers are always running but do care about the people and do their best to meet needs.

My grandmother moved in right after the place opened. She lived there for several years and in general we didn't have any issues with Briarwood. The place was very nice. My grandmother never did care for the meals although not long before she moved out they started getting better when they replaced the cook. However there was an falling incident where I believe they did not do their job by checking up on her like they told us they would do if she missed a meal.
