This facility, with ample grounds and excellent potential, is a tremendous disappointment. The rent is exorbitant for the tiny apartments, and management turnover gone from bad to worse. Neither apartments, landscape, or common areas are adequately maintained.

My father enjoyed his time living here for the last few years of his life. Nice small apartment that was perfect for him. However the current management is awful! They don't return calls and don't do what they say! I am still waiting for a return of a refund and will most likely have to go to court to get it. I'm not sure the new management (Joy) knows how to do her job, which is sad as this is a decent place to live. Except for the local management.

Don't Live Here
This is a horrible place to live. The new manager Joy doesn't know how to do her job, she didn't put in the housing payments like she is supposed to so the full rent payment came out of my checking account. She's either fired all the good employees or made things so bad they quit. She's very rude and disrespectful to the residents here and this is a 55 and over property. To be honest I can't wait till my lease is up so I can move away from this place, and I know there are others planning to do the same. So if you're on housing or have half a brain don't live here.

New management Joy is a horrible person. As soon as she got there, she raised the rents and doesn't treat the residents with respect. I heard her even say she doesn't like old people. She talks to people like they are stupid and I wouldn't trust her to feed my goldfish. There have been rent checks lost and she has lied to me several times. Don't trust her and don't move here!

The Landsby Place says it is a Senior Community but all ages live there as they also take Section 8 handicapped. There are currently issues with roof leaks and they put you on a list for repairs even though the ceiling is mushy and water drips through it. When pushed the ceiling actually came apart. I'm worried with the next heavy rain the ceiling might actually fall in on my mother while she is in the bathroom. The little overhead glass door cabinet between the kitchen and living area was actually coming away from the ceiling it took 2 weeks and multiple phone calls before someone came to repair it. Black ugly MOLD has been an issue for the past 6 years my mother has lived there. Not healthy for a woman in her 80's. My mother is not on any public assistance and can't afford most apartments in the city that is why she stays at The Landsby Place apartments. I would not recommend this place for anyone to live.

Dog,and cat everywhere. No place for them to go to the bathroom. This mean they let there dog poop in your yard. The parking is the worst I have ever seen. The resident have there own parking, but visitors and nursing staff use it. I bought a new car two month ago and have been ding by folks that don't live there. The new flooring is done by a guy that has no flooring experience, and it show. On top of it all I'm fighting ants, and loosing.

My experience with this retirement community wasn't very nice. My grandmother was lonely, depressed, and felt as though she wasn't a part of anything. The Landsby place has a community center and says they plan activities for the residents but they were few and far between. Also, when they did have these planned activities, such as Bingo Night or a Pot luck dinner the residents had to plan and pay for everything. I don't think this is right because most of the older people living in these types of communities are on welfare and disability and cannot afford such things. I think that this community living was understaffed and lacked an overall motivation. They didn't keep the apartments taken care of and were falling apart. It took my grandma over six months to have them fix her stove, I think this is unacceptable! The only positive thing I have to say about this community is the fact that they allowed the residents to have pets. My grandma was allowed to have her small dog and cat which was the only real entertainment and companionship she got out of living there. She is now much happier and healthier living with our family.
