Holiday The Regent was a little older, but a well-kept place. The rooms were a little smaller, but were very nice. The person who toured me was great. He knew what he was doing. He was very nice and very open. They didn't have a pool, but they had a library and a movie area. There were people doing laundry, two guys that were playing pool, and several other people around that were out and about reading or walking.

Everything about Holiday The Regent was great. The people were great. Everybody was super friendly, super nice, and super helpful. They needed to do maybe a little more updating like the carpets in the hallways seemed a little bit older. The lobby wasn't quite as nice. I know it's fall and it's going to be winter, but the patio seemed kind of dirty. They said they're cleaning it up. The pots didn't have flowers. It seemed kind of a little messy around the patio area. They had some singers at the time I was visiting in the dining area, and activities were going on. The grounds were very nice.

My mom lived in the Regent, Corvallis, for eleven years. After suffering a stroke which required a move to a assisted living center I cannot get them to refund her "security Deposit". Contract clearly states "deposit may only be used by the landlord for non-payment". She was current in all payments. After a time period of six months I cannot get my mom's refund, calls locally and emails are to no avail and rarely returned. I wonder how many families deposits they financially keep capitalizing on their senior residents. Tremendously disappointed and recommend you considering another facility.

The Regent had a nice place for the dog. The reason we didn't choose it is it's in Corvallis and we're not crazy about Corvallis. The rooms were fine. We tried their food there and it was excellent. The staff was very nice. We pretty much liked it. The facility was older, but they kept it up nice.

The quality of the Regent and staff is A-1. The staff is patient, caring, and present. They know and understand each resident individually. We are extremely happy with the service. Oh, and did I mention the staff is very friendly?!

The Regent is a wonderful place to live! The apartments are big and have views of the moutian range on the east side of the building. The staff was my favorite part of being a resident. They have been there a longtime. I felt very cared for and loved. I enjoyed excersise and bean bag baseball the most. They also have a turndown service just like the hotels do.

The tour at The Regent was fine, but we didn't like it because it had low ceilings and was dark. It had nice views because it's up on a hill, and there were nice places to walk outside. They also allowed pets. They seemed to be a really active group; they were having a ball tournament with another community while we toured. The staff was great, answered questions, showed us around, and told us what's going on. The rooms had patios on the first floor. They don't have cottages. The location is excellent because they're right by a hospital.

The visit at The Regent was good. They invited me for a lunch and the food was good. The staff was very helpful and very informative. They pay attention to what you're saying. They showed us a 1-bedroom that had a living area and a bedroom. They have a bus service where they can take you to your appointments.

The Regent is comfortable. My dad is living there right now. The staff members are friendly. Every time I have gone there, people are nice. They're great. It's a great location. I like the grounds. My dad's room pretty much has everything that is needed. The dining area is set up nice. The people who work there are attentive, kind, and easy to have conversation with. It's a perfect place for all the residents there. The meal is adequate. They give you choices. I think the price is good.

I really liked The Regent, but its $500 more a month than I have the funds for. They have a small studio that is $1350 a month, and it’s all inclusive. They do once a week maid service which I wouldn’t need, and you don’t have to pay utilities; there’s cable. The rooms would be perfect for me, it’s beautiful, and the people were wonderful. The residents that I met were just wonderful. We had lunch, and the food was outstanding; it was just as good as any nice restaurant. I felt like I should leave the lady the tip that waited on me. It’s not a cafeteria; it’s like a restaurant setup. I would recommend to anybody.

I liked The Regent. It was smaller, more moderate, and inexpensive. It was more like what we were looking for. For the inexpensiveness of it, the facility itself and what they offered, the cleanliness of the facility, and the niceness of the people, I thought it was very nice. The rooms were really nice but smaller. Some of them were on the ground floor where you could walk out, which is nice.

The Regent is OK, and the staff is pleasant. I have a large, nice studio apartment with a sink and a refrigerator. They offer bingo and have happy hour on Fridays.

Disappointed in Corvallis

Since Holiday took over the Regent, the graciousness of and quality of service has steadily decreased. The food is not very good. Poorly prepared, cheap ingredients, odd menu combinations. If you are at the end of the serving line, you menu items will likely be out. I would rate it at grade B cafeteria level food. ($4.00/day/resident) It is clear that Holiday considers Corvallis to be a lower priority because there are only two independent living residence and they own both. No competition. Very corporate business attitude with very little concern for the comfort or quality of life of their residents. They are chronically short staffed on purpose. They have no substitutes to call in, so residents frequently have to "be understanding" about their rooms not being cleaned, service being even slower than usual or the meal menu being changed to something that can be prepared by non-kitchen staff members. They shortened meal times to one hour (unlike the hour and half stated on the web site) to reduce payroll costs. Residents are expected to arrive at 8, 12, 5, late arrivals are discouraged because it causes more work. Staff are not allowed to work more hours as needed (unless, of course they are salaried, the resident mgrs have to pick up all the slack or the residents get short shrift. The local staff are, for the most part, sincere, friendly and kind and do the best they can with the time they are allowed. Turnover is higher than it used to be (pre-Holiday).

I thought The Regent was very nice, and the people were very friendly. The facility seemed quite adequate. It was great. It was not exactly what I was looking for though. The rooms and apartments were spacious enough. I was very impressed with it.

My wife likes The Regent. What she liked about it was it was practically across the street from Corvallis Hospital, and she was enchanted with the idea of possibly doing some community work there. It’s also down the block from a mall and a bank. That was the thing that turned her on. It’s an attractive community; it was presentable and neatly put together. It has free admission on buses for the senior citizens. The food was fine. However, 4/5 of their activities are more of the sitting stuff, like playing cards, watching a movie, listening to a speaker, arts and crafts, jigsaw puzzles, other board games, music, sing-a-longs, and bingo. They do not encourage muscle tone and blood circulation.
