I didn't think much of Baptist Village. The staff who assisted me was very nice, and the dining area looked like a big banquet room. However, when I looked at the room down the hall, I thought it was horrible. The lighting was poor. The living quarters of the residents needed to be updated as the rooms were not up to standard. The furnishings in the rooms were horrible. The walls, tiles, and floors looked institutional. From what I observed, it would be the last place I would send my mother.

My husband and I moved to Baptist Village because it was near our daughter. We had a one bedroom apartment. We had lunch and breakfast on Friday mornings. The food they served was all good. There were a lot of activities like dominoes, rubic's cube, sponsoring church every month, sushi night, bell choir and many more. I liked the price and I would recommend this place to others.

Baptist Retirement Building was an older building. They had a wide variety of apartments at different prices so people could pick what apartment fit their budget. They had wide variety of service for the people there and they could customize and take advantage of what you want to do or turn down services that you do not need or you could do without. The dining room, chapel, lay offices were all in one building and the apartments were group in other buildings and spread out in the land that they had. For people who had problems to go to the dining room, they could get their meals delivered in their room for a fee. But if they could go to the dining room, they could interact with the other people there. There was a beauty shop where you could have an appointment to have your hair done. I could have someone to take you to the grocery and you would just pay them to take them. But these were just options. You paid for your rent, your telephone, you do your own laundry, a lot of the apartment room, they had laundry room. In the top care, you would get cable, they would pay your gas, electricity and they'll do the laundry for you. There were two other three other cares in between so you could chose the deal that was right for your financial situation.
