My father is in Tuscany Village Nursing Center. We're going to try to get him to stay there because he likes it there and they seem to be taking good care of him. They all seem nice and seem to be doing what they need to be doing. They got him through the COVID. He had a bad COVID. His lungs were messed up. He had pneumonia. All that, so I got him through that. Now he does not have COVID, but he still has a lot of stuff. He still has to be on oxygen. The staff is pretty nice and they seem pretty friendly to him. I've talked to them. It's pretty clean. He had a problem with his room, with the plumbing going out, but that might have been from the ice storm we had. Most of the time the food is good, every once in a while, he doesn't like it. Right now he does rehab and exercises. The rooms are shared and they share a bathroom.

My uncle is in Tuscany Village Nursing Center. It was the one that he was placed in when he got out from the hospital. That was just the place that he was able to get the care that he needed. He wasn't ready for assisted living. It's pretty good, but I haven't been able to go in because of COVID restrictions. But so far they've given him options, so I would say it's good, and my uncle also says it's good. They're helping him apply for benefits. If he doesn't wanna eat what they're serving for dinner they offer him fruit smoothies, and then we're able to drop off things and they gave it to him. It is kind of hard to get an update on him. It's a long waiting time when we ask to talk to the nurse, so that's not very good with open communication. All the time they have to hunt down the person to talk to.

I have been a resident at Tuscany for 2 months. The staff is great! They always help me when i need it. The food isn’t always great, but the employees work very hard to make the place a happy home.
Patient needs an advocate

My friend is bedbound and has been since February. He has nothing good to say about Tuscany Village. His insurance forced him out of the hospital into this nursing home. He still needs dressing changes and medical care. After many visits there, I must say that I have nothing good to say about the place either. The food is bad and often not even edible. Nearly raw chicken was served for lunch one day. The kitchen staff does not provide what he asks for at any time. His meds have been improperly given many times. He calls for a bedpan and must wait for over an hour for one to be brought to him. Then he is left on the used bedpan for another hour or more. During one visit I saw that the used bedpan had been left on the bathroom floor. The center is severely understaffed. When I am in the patient's room, the staff acts nice. When the patient is alone in his room, 90% of the staff is rude, uncaring, and often downright mean. He is not offered sponge baths and when he asks for one, it is not given. He has had two sponge baths during the last 8 weeks. My list is so long that I do not have time enough to give every instance of poor performance. I would not recommend placing a loved one here under any circumstances.
