I visited Emerald Square Senior Living. The rooms were all large. The staff was very knowledgeable and very concerned about your needs and wants. She was just a nice person. The dining area was huge. According to the staff I was with, they were going to update it and make it have a more homey feel to it, but it was already a nice facility. They had bingo nights and they had transportation to doctors. I saw the menu and it was a very open menu. They have the normal stuff that they prepare every day, but if the resident doesn't like what they are serving, then they can make something else.

Everything about Emerald Square Senior Living was good. I think the sizes of the rooms were nice. The man that we talked to was very nice. He showed us everything we needed to know and answered all our questions. The tour was very good. They showed us their calendar of activities and the dining room. We even met the cooks. They also showed us how they would take care of the medicine and all the other things I needed to see. It was very clean and very nice.

I toured Emerald Square Senior Living. They have assisted living and independent living, too. They have cottages out in the back. I didn't try the food there, but they had the menu out. They even had a schedule of detailed events and activities that they were having going on a day. They had someone coming in to play music, and yesterday, they played bingo. Their events coordinator, her name is Katie, and she was a really sweet deal. That was good, too. They had a courtyard, which was kind of like right in the middle of it, so no one would get lost or run away. That courtyard was nice, and they have free access to it. The floor plan layout was much more conducive to my dad's ability to access the bathroom. The basic studio wasn't a good fit for my dad specifically just because the bathroom was small. You couldn't exactly put a wheelchair in there or the scooter that he has. The studio deluxe was much larger and it had a walk-in shower so he could get a chair in there. The access to it is great because it's a straight shot, and you don't have to bend around a corner. Then the one-bedroom apartment that they showed us was quite a large floor plan. I thought it was too much for my dad, and it was more than what was required of him. We were also trying to keep the costs down, so we were planning on going to the studio deluxe depending on if they take him or not. They said they're going to call us back tonight pending the evaluation of his abilities and everything. They had a salon, and they had a library. They said they switched the books in and out, they have someone come in there, and the residents can check them out. They have two courtyards. One courtyard was for smoking and the other one was non-smoking, so that was nice because my dad likes to go outside. They also have a fitness center. They don't have a whole lot of equipment, but it's enough for him because he likes dumbbells, and they have about 20 dumbbells up to 20 pounds. He can't move his legs, but he can move his arms, so he likes to do that. When you walk in there, they have this schedule of what's going on the day, the events that they've coordinated, and they even have a joke of the day on the paper, which is kind of cool. I know my dad when he reads that, he's going to have something to tell somebody else or to talk about outside the community, like when he calls me, so that's cool. The staff is great; the residents seem happy. I prefer this place because it is a better fit for my dad. What compelled my decision to go there was the floorplan layout for the bathroom.

My mother lived here. The first thing I noticed was that the atmosphere was VIBRANT---folks were still LIVING here and that showed. Many veterans live here, and all the residents were friendly and welcoming; the ladies asked me about my mom and seemed genuinely glad to welcome her to the group. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. Stormy, the head nurse, went above and beyond to work with my mom; she was readily available when I had questions. The aides were easily available and glad to help. My mom could not dress herself, but the aides would take care to coordinate her clothes. Laundry was done regularly, and she (and her room) smelled fresh. The rooms are generously sized and open to one of two enclosed courtyards. When I ate with her, the food was well prepared and delicious. I would definitely choose Emerald Square (which was recommended by a senior living advisor when I had difficulties with OK Medicaid) again for a loved one. They offer many activities at the facility plus a van to go on shopping trips, etc.

Emerald Square is wonderful; we love it. It’s nice and roomy; it’s great food. It will take you all the way to hospice. You couldn’t ask for nicer people to work with. Even the people that live here are very congenial and very nice, and the staff is fantastic.

I visited Emerald Square and I found it to be a nice and accommodating place. I talked to the staff there. They were very nice, informative, and very personable. They provided me all the information that I needed. They had assisted living, and they had cottages. They told me all about what they provided. They had activities, like they take people out to different performances and places. From what I saw and the way they described it to me, I thought that this was a top-notch facility.

Emerald Square is a nice facility. My husband could have ended here but they don't have a lock down unit. That was primarily the reason why he didn't go there. Also it was just a feeling that they were pressuring me to get it now because the pay was half the price and I got to do it by this date. But, they're more updated and the rooms are larger and more modern than where he is now. Price is almost identical too. They told me a lot of stuff that they do in a daily basis. Every day, they have something in the morning for the morning people and also in the afternoon for the afternoon people. I didn't see anything wrong, they just need a locked down facility and that would have worked for me. It's closer to my house and it looked spotless, they never knew I was going to drop in.
