About This Community

Dorset Place is just one of our pet friendly assisted living communities in Oklahoma City where providing compassionate assistance with daily routines comes naturally. We develop individual care plans to meet the needs of each resident, and a full-time licensed nurse is available 24 hours a day to provide clinical oversight and coordination of care. We offer our residents the opportunity to thrive in mind and body by creating a full schedule of activities, such as daily exercise classes, social hours, daily devotionals and a variety of classic games. When we are not busy at the community, you will find us on one of our many shopping, dining or scenic tour excursions throughout the week. We welcome everyone's input and value participation in making our community feel like home. For more specialized, memory care in Oklahoma City, we have an adjacent sister community serving those with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Having access to this additional level of care on-site provides comfort and peace of mind that is important to you and your loved ones. Schedule a visit to explore our memory care and assisted living community in OKC.

Dorset Place is nice. My mother has been there for a little bit now, and it's been very good. The staff is very nice. We can visit her now. She's in a semiprivate room, and it's nice. They made muffins the other day, and the residents got to help make muffins. They celebrate the holidays, and on Fridays they have a coffee hour. They do things with them. They have a beauty salon and she loves that. The food I had was very good.

I went to Dorset Place Memory Care, and I sat on the front porch with the director, and then saw the run-through on his phone. My husband was in a place of 20 people, and that one was a 40; and it was built around an inner port. Knowing that my husband walks all the time, I was afraid he is going to get lost and start going in other rooms, which was kind of habit anyway. So, I was worried that there was too much there for him, mainly on how it was arranged. The people were nice—I actually knew the nurse. I was impressed with them, but I was worried about the size of the facility, it was a little larger than I was looking for. The pricing was just a little higher than where he is now. The director was very likable, very open, and very knowledgeable about memory care, and my husband's particular dementia. I had a very good feeling about the area, except for the fact that I knew my husband would be walking forever, and then go to be in the wrong column or he'll be in someone else's room to crash. That was my main concern. 'Cause otherwise, that was a good place, and I liked it. The memory care area at Dorset is separate, a separate building from the assisted living which I kind of like. It did appeal to me that it was all memory care there in that building. There's plenty of parking. They have the front porch so you could sit and visit, but the patio itself was enclosed. So, visitors at this time would not be allowed there.

We put in our friend. We went out and visited with him and we were very impressed, so we decided to use it. The marketing we met with was really great. She was very helpful and we were very impressed with her. She gave us a tour. The rooms are very nice and big enough. They have a lot of activities. They seem to keep the residents busy and given things to do. We thought that was good. He's still there and they're doing a good job. We're very pleased.
