My mom moved into Victorian Estates yesterday. It was close to her home, and she knew a couple of people already in there. The move-in was very good. The staff was very nice. I like that it's a small community. They don't house a lot, it's not large, and there's not a lot of people there. They have a game room, they watch movies, and they try to keep them active. I think they have a walking club, puzzles, bingo, and movie night. My mother doesn't feel like going down to eat, so they charge you to bring it to your room. I think that's ridiculous.

I live at this establishment. It is a diabetics nightmare. They have false advertising. The do not serve fresh vegetables or fruit. 95% of the food is canned and processed food including the meat. Chicken fried steak is nothing but hamburger meat smooshed together. Some of the vegetables they serve are frozen and over cooked. When they serve over cooked vegetables they are nothing but moosh. Most of the people who have moved into this facility have no idea the shape the kitchen is in. the kitchen is nasty. The stove, oven and grill are not in proper working order. The only alternative food offered is a sandwich and chips. That's the only option. Salads consist of iceberg lettuce which is half wilted, tomatoes, a very small amount, red bell pepper, not diced up and dressing. No body cares about their relative they throw into this place. Very few activities are offered because this place does not want to provide the proper equipment. They provide a place for bulling by staff and residents. The only nice thing are the rooms. Most of the air-conditioners and heating units do not work properly. This place does not have a fully operating staff. If you are an alcoholic this is the place for you to be part of the staff. They allow an alcoholic to serve your medicine. You may or may get the proper medication. This place pays the old minimum wage, $11.75 per hour. Corporate is under the entire control of every minute workings of this establishment. The corporate offices are in Texas, and Tulsa Oklahoma.

Victorian Estates' rooms were very nice and had sitting rooms. They had games and people playing cards who were interacting well.

Victorian Estates was a beautiful and cheaper place, but it was very limited. My husband has dementia, and if he progresses, they’d have to kick us out because they didn’t have the facilities. The L-shaped room was beautiful, but it wasn’t large enough for what we needed. It was very clean and very neat, and my husband and I loved it. It was not for us because it didn’t fill what we needed.

I highly recommend Victorian Estates. We just moved my elderly mother there in September and she is very happy so far. She is in the mid-stages of Alzheimer's - knows all of us, but can't remember anything short term. I just stayed with her for a few days, so I can speak first hand from my experience. Both workers and residents are warm and friendly. The nurses and employees are very kind and helpful and help mom stay on top of her various medications. They also always let her know when they are having social activities so she can attend. Social interaction is very important to and for her. I had breakfast with her a couple of mornings and it was healthy, a variety of choices and delicious. Décor is nice and the gardens and courtyard area are very well maintained and lovely. This is not the fanciest assisted living residence, but it is also not the most expensive. Overall, I was very very happy with what I saw while I was there and I am confident that my mom is being well cared for by the caring folks at Victorian Estates.

My mother-in-law found Victoria Estates for her mom. The place is close to a lot of our relatives. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are spacious. The garden is beautiful and very well maintained. They got somebody there that works for the gardens. They have shopping, bingos, but I really can't remember the specific activities because I've been there way back.
