My dad has been in Arbor House of Norman for a week now. So far, we've been very happy. We have been very satisfied. They've been very helpful. He needed the medical component, and they are able to provide that for him. The staff has been great. I don't feel like they've left anything out, I feel like they've lived up to what they said they were going to do. The only issues that I have are because of Covid things. These are things they had to put into place, but that is not their own fault. It is just something that the CDC has required.
My dad's room is an efficiency, and it's large. There are not very many activities there. He hasn't really gone to a lot of the activities. Right now, he's been having a lot of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and different types of things. He hasn't really participated yet. Right now, they're not allowing visitors in the dining area.
Food is good. Where my dad was before, it was more like a restaurant (where you can go and order what you want). It's been a little bit of adjustment, but I have not heard any complaints. He's not losing weight. He is at the end of a very long hall, and he has trouble walking to the cafeteria. They come and get him in a wheelchair and take him to dinner; so it is not a problem. Pricing was comparable with everyone else. Overall, we're very pleased.

Arbor House of Norman has been very supportive and cooperative. It's certainly very clean and well-appointed. My friend tells me that the food is particularly good. They've been very flexible in assisting her with transportation to various doctor's appointments. The administration has been very supportive. So, I would have to say that everything that I am aware of, to this point in time, is certainly very positive. She has participated in a group exercise class and a couple of games and activities. They solicit the residents to come and participate too. Of the ones I've looked at, I guess this has the best value for the money.
Her apartment was among the larger units that we saw. It has a very large walk-in closet that has more storage space than I had seen in other places. There is a separation wall between, what would be a bedroom area and in her living area. It had a roll-in shower so she can get in the shower more easily with less assistance. There is a kitchenette, a full-sized refrigerator, and a microwave. It has quite a bit of cabinet-type storage as well. It has very good storage, very good closets, better and larger than most of the others I've seen.

We found Arbor House Assisted Living. They seemed to be very caring people, they had a really nice facility, they haven't had any COVID cases, and they're really careful people. My wife will be in assisted living. They had all of the amenities that the other places had. They play games, they take their people on outings when COVID isn't going on, and I think they have everything we need. It's a very caring facility. It's nice and clean, and it's well kept; they do a good job on maintenanace.

I went to Arbor House, but my mom would not feel comfortable in that atmosphere. It was nice and had a nice area for dogs. Everything is in one room with a little kitchen area, a bedroom, and a living room. They had quite a few activities. However, the staff wasn't that friendly.

We liked the atmosphere, activities, and location of Arbor House of Norman. We liked the room that my grandmother applied for, the size, and the layout. They had games, and people coming in and doing things for the residents. Of all the places, it seemed to be the place that’s adequately equipped and cost a whole lot less in rent than some of the others that we looked at. The staff was very polite and warmhearted. The residents were playing bingo while we were there, and seeing the staff interact with the seniors felt very positive and uplifting.

Arbor House was big, open, and nice, but it did not have a homey feel. It felt like walking into a large facility, not a large home. Their beauty shop was pathetic. The dining area was huge and open.

Arbor House was nice, but they didn’t have the size apartment I wanted and the staff didn’t know when they would have any. It was really nice and right in the neighborhood of my house, so I know it’s really nice there. It was very updated, fairly new, and very clean. I couldn’t even consider it because I couldn’t wait. I had to find something that was available right away. The community was good. They’re really nice there.

Arbor House had little kitchenettes in the assisted living rooms. Each kitchenette had a refrigerator, microwave, and sink. I really liked the layout of the individual assisted living rooms. The community was probably a little bit smaller than the ones at other facilities I'd visited. I really liked the director. It seemed like a little bit quieter and more laid back community.

Arbor House was lovely, we really liked it. It was a little dark, but it was very nice. It was just too expensive for us. It was beautifully decorated, fairly new, looked updated, everything was in good shape and everybody was friendly.

I looked at Arbor House and it was a pretty nice assisted living center. We had some friends that had lived there at one time or another, and I felt they were well cared for. I decided it would be adequate for my wife if we needed it and I already have recommended them to others.

Everything so far has been very good at Arbor House of Norman. My mother is probably not going to be there too much longer, but they try to help as much as they can. The staff is helpful. The head nurse updates me about Mom. They are excellent about repairing things that need to be repaired. They have exercise. They have something called 'Wii Bowling:' it's an electronic game that keeps their arms moving. They're very good about activities. I'm very pleased.

We decided to take a look at Arbor House of Norman, Oklahoma for our uncle. We happened to be in the vicinity visiting friends, so stopped in. The well-manicured grounds were really attractive, we noticed first.
The area is quiet and peaceful, which our uncle really likes. The lobby had a lovely fountain and fireplace and seemed very welcoming. The aristocratic feel of the furnishings was really kind of refreshing; we've visited a lot of home-style facilities lately -- all of which were nice, but this was a fresh take on a different point of view. We waited in the lovely sitting room where some residents also happened to be -- one was reading a book and the other was relaxing.
The dining room was a bit formal for our tastes, but there are other options that residents can consider -- such as dining privately by themselves or with a few others. The menu options looked delicious and well thought out.
Our uncle would appreciate the pool since he loves to swim. The patio areas looked lovely and we could see how he would really enjoy them as well.
This facility specializes in dementia -- which our uncle has early stages of. Meeting with the staff and seeing how they interacted with residents so kindly made us feel very comfortable.
All of the areas were immaculately clean and it is obvious that the staff takes pride in keeping them that way. The staff really works together, and it shows.
The activities are varied -- residents are offered many options, from walking to exercise classes and other stimulating and fun things to do. Our uncle was always quite active until recently, and this facility gives us hope that he could return to his fun-loving self easily here.
Clearly - this facility is at the top of our list due to the professionalism, excellent care and staff-resident interaction. Dealing with memory challenged people is challenging, but Arbor House seems to handle it extremely well. The kindness, patience and diligence of the staff did not go unnoticed by us. In fact, it was truly extraordinary to see and we feel that anyone with dementia would be treated with the same level of kindness and genuine concern that we saw on our visit.
