I went to look at The Veraden. It was a good visit. It was really large, and the hallways were confusing. The people were very nice. The rooms were clean and seemed a little small. They had a walk-in pool.

My parents have been in The Veraden assisted living. We wanted to go to where we have more options as far as continuing care. This place is pretty updated. They have been pretty happy there, but with COVID they've been confined to their rooms, which has made their dementia move faster than it was before COVID. They just changed their pharmacy program to remedies so we'll see how far that goes. We don't really have a lot of complaints about them, it's a good place, they just don't have the level that I would care for after memory care. They've had some turnover with their RNs, which probably caused the little nitpicking that we've had. They just got a new RN so I'm looking for the issues to be straightened out. They've had some activities before like bingo and they had a blast, but with COVID, the residents aren't getting to do many activities. The director and one of the staff members would come down the hall once a week or so singing and making people laugh or smile, but it's not the same as having activities. The value for the money is reasonable when you consider everything that goes into it. The only gripe is the way they're handling meals right now. I think their in-dining room experience is very important for their social interaction and keeps them on track mentally, and they're losing all of that interaction by having their meals brought to their rooms. They let the residents go back to the dining room for about a week, and then they immediately went back to having quarantine meals in their rooms.

Nice public areas, fairly spacious apts. That's all I can say. My mother lived here until her passing for over a year. Her medications were never accurate; this is neglect, carelessness, incompetence and dangerous. She was charged for services never rendered- all part of a ridiculous point system that gouges residents, taking advantage of elderly. Mgt was unresponsive and could care less. I have friends needing advice on placement of their parents. I always tell them to avoid the Veraden at all costs. So many better caring places to see your loved one taken well care of.

The Veraden was very nice, but when they were going to celebrate Mardi Gras, they were going to have drinks, and my mom doesn't drink. It just seemed more like a party atmosphere than a Christian atmosphere. The person who gave me the tour was fine and everyone was really nice. I just didn't appreciate the the drinking.

The Veraden is beautiful, very sophisticated, and very upper class. However, my mom didn't feel at home there. It was almost too nice for her, but for someone who is looking for that, it would be wonderful. It's confusing because it is so big. It would be hard for her to navigate. We were going to move her in there, but then we realized that she didn't like it. It is large with a complicated layout, but it's beautiful and very top-of-the-line luxurious. It is higher priced, but it is very nice. The location is convenient. They also have a swimming pool.

The Veraden Assisted Living has a very elegant lobby area. It is quite new, but there were some wears and tears that were visible. They did have several alternatives for rooms, whereas some places settle on one kind of room. In terms of room sizes, there were variations. That's the upside to this community. They have a dining area and an area for activities, like a large family style room. They have TVs and books too.

We visited the Veraden. The common areas were beautiful and very clean, but I did not observe any activities. It's new and had a separate dining room that was nice. I saw a few people. There was an outdoor space, but the rooms were small, and there were a lot of long hallways; my mother would get lost if she was there.

The Veraden is new, clean, and neat. It was built in the last year or two and very expensive. The staff was very nice. The nearest hospital was about five miles away. The rooms were very nice. I think it would be comfortable for anybody who moves in.
