I'm in Brookdale Edmond Santa Fe. I'm in a one-room apartment. I moved here on July 6th. My son and daughter-in-law had purchased furniture for me here. It's comfortable for me, the bathroom's accessible for someone in a wheelchair, and I have a closet. We've had turnovers in the staff since I've been here. I have liked all but one or two, and the ones that I deal with here are fantastic. They listen and take good care of me. The food is excellent. I've gained weight since I've been here. They help me because I'm on a low sodium diet, and right now I've had some teeth extracted, so I can't chew very much. They're excellent in giving me food that I can eat, and it's still tasty. Our activities coordinator, just resigned last week, and we've got a new one starting on Monday. We have arts and crafts, and we have games and we play bingo, and when he was here, we went out. They drove us to Wal-Mart every Monday. If we had doctor's appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, he would drive us to our doctor's appointments and pick us up.

I was an absolute wreck holding the reins of trying to find a facility that met my sweet Grandmother's needs, that was affordable on her fixed income, and that was somewhere any of us would want to be, especially her. That's like the holy trinity of long-term care. I visited a few places, but nothing was a good fit. That is, until I came to Brookdale Edmond Santa Fe. If it was just that the staff was kind and caring, that would be one thing. If the food was decent, if it was a good value... I could see rating them a three or four. But it isn't just one of those things-- it is an excellent facility, with commendable passion for caring for people, honoring who they are, supporting families through end-of-life and long-term care decision making... They are top-notch. I shudder to think about what could have been had we gone elsewhere. There were plenty of places closer to me, geographically. I must drive by twenty on my way to visit her. Not only is the food DELICIOUS, not only is it an EXCEPTIONAL VALUE, but I never had to worry about the quality of care my Grandma would receive. Not once. Brookdale's staff, and specifically the Director and Head Nurse, have painstakingly provided a peace to me and my family through their careful and considerate practices. They hold relationships in high regard-- they truly care about not only the residents they serve, but about those who visit them as well. There has not been a turn in this journey that hasn't been difficult. However, it has been comforting that at each bend in the road I have been greeted with patience, with solutions, and knowing Brookdale's staff truly values the person I have entrusted them to care for. I am eternally grateful for the kindness they have shown me. I strongly urge you to consider this community.

I would first like to express my gratitude for everything the staff did for my mom and my family. They worked hard to help us find the right place for the specific needs my mom and our family had for the time we had left together. They really listened to what we needed and treated us as if my mom, as well as my family, were their family. The staff was always available for questions and very prompt with answers. I would recommend this location to anyone that I care about that was in need of a good family environment for a loved one. Brookdale Edmond Santa Fe was a kind, safe and friendly place and I can't imagine it being that without the staff.

No one wants to see a loved one reach a point in their lives when they need assistance but when my dear friend couldn't remember if she took her medication, forgot to eat, and could no longer drive, she agreed "itwas time" to look into assisted living! Brookdale was her choice and from the moment she arrived until the day she died she was well taken care of by the Brookdale staff! Yes your loved one will have their favorite staff and their favorite food and everything the assisted living staff will do will not met your loved ones expectations but you will always know they are in a safe environment with caring professionals! My friend was difficult because it is hard to give up your independence but the Brookdale staff worked religiously to make my friend happy! Near the end of her life they made her comfortable and stayed with her until she died! They even attended her funeral! Please check out Brookdale when you are searching for a place for your loved one! You won't be disappointed on the quality of care your loved one will receive in Brookdale Edmond!

My mom was at Brookdale Edmond Santa Fe before we moved her out. They led me to believe that she would have the right care, but anytime something went wrong, they would tell me they are assisted living. They were unable to do things as simple as changing her clock during daylight saving time. They are not helpful at all. It was bad, and I was paying a lot of money.

We came to Sterling House unannounced. We went in and looked at the rooms. There were no sales people or anything. The rooms were pretty comparable. But maybe a little smaller. The dining room was clean and nice and like a restaurant. I like that it is smaller.

Sterling House would not be my first choice. The facility was not as airy in terms of space; it just looked sort of dark too. The décors were not as updated. Also since they're dealing with people who need assistance, there were some odors that weren't really pleasant as we walked in. Their rooms were a little darker too. They did have activities but they're limited for the residents. Their residents were playing bingo when we came in and then they had 1940s or 1950s band playing at that time. The residents were dressed nicely and really seemed to do that but I saw more people not as active. This place just seemed a little stagnant and wasn't as lively. I did like the fact though that some of the residents there were still couples residing together. Regarding care, we would have to adjust Mom's medicines more there because they only have nurses from 9 am to 5 pm.

The Sterling House of Edmond Santa Fe is a nice, peaceful place to be with. I visited this facility and I am impressed with the atmosphere that they provide. The Sterling House is located over at Santa Fe in Edmond and is one of the only two assisted living in Edmond, Oklahoma. The location is great and is easily accessible. The place itself is a peaceful sanctuary. It is easy to see why the people are friendly and nice. It is not a huge facility but it makes up for its warm and lovely welcome the moment you walk in. I would recommend The Sterling House as it is a welcoming place.
