I toured The Broadmoor Retirement Community. It was very pleasant and very informative. I was happily surprised by how much closet space their room had. They took me into the dining room, and it was mealtime so I could see what they were eating, and everybody seemed happy. The place was clean. The person who took me on the tour was very good at what she was doing. She answered all my questions. I like the fact that each room has its own individual heat and air. I checked on things like the water pressure and the hot water and things like that, and each unit has its own hot water tank. I love the size of the bathroom room. The size of the bathroom and the vanity top were exceptional. It's just not what I expected on the positive side. The staff was putting their best foot forward when you meet them, but they're impressive.

I moved into Broadmoor Retirement Community. I like everything here. The staff is very helpful. They address my concerns. The place is clean. Overall, it's a good place to live. I pretty much prepare my own meals. The food here is edible. They have tai chi. They have outings where you can go and shop at Walmart or Dollar Tree. We have fun games and we have an arts and crafts room. I just referred them to my uncle. For family members to live in a place that I live in, it speaks quality about the place that I live in.

I am trying to work out some things regarding moving into Broadmoor Retirement Community. I really liked the staff there. They were very professional, attentive, and answered all my questions.
They took me to a couple of apartments and the facilities that they offer. The one apartment that they showed me was acceptable. It was clean and had been repainted recently.
They had a dining room, a recreation area, a workout room, and a small courtyard. They had some local transportation to shopping or restaurants on scheduled times.
I had lunch there, and it was quite good. The menu had a diversity of food available. I could choose what I wanted, and then they would provide it for me.
The building itself was older, but it was accessible. The carpets needed to be upgraded.

I used to live at The Broadmoor. It was fine, but they didn't have the amenities that the other place had. They provided three meals a day, they offered laundry services (or you could do it on your own), and they had someone that came in and cleaned your apartment. They had a lot of activities for the residents. The staff was very nice and very congenial. However, I think they could have done a little bit better on the quality of the food. It was a good assorted menu, but the cook couldn't get what he needed, so he was very challenged by that.

Notice there no recent reviews for this establishment. My mom moved there several years ago and it was great. The broadmoor has continued to go downhill since it was purchased. The food is worse and maintenance is terrible. During the winter many residents had no heat for several weeks. One elevator was broken for a week and my mo had to use the stairs...with a walker ...to eat. She can't see well and has waiting for new light bulbs or fixture for some time. Rain leaks through her sliding door and has been waiting for over a month for it to be fixed. A rug near the door got wet and they promised to have it cleaned...now it is covered with mold. I would talk to the residents before considering putting anyone in there

I did go to The Broadmoor, and it was very positive. However, I didn't see any that was ready that my mother could move in. It was a room with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. It's all empty, but it was fine. There was nothing special about it. The staff was all really nice, very helpful, and gave a lot of advice. I did see a room where there was a computer. They could sit around, they had a piano there, but I didn't observe any activities. I ate there, and it was very good.

We visited Broadmoor, and my mom liked it. She was concerned about fitting in, and she said maybe she could fit in at that one because she had known a couple of people there. The place was clean. The staff wasn't pushy for us to make a commitment. We wanted it to be Mom's decision and not our own decision because we didn't want her to say, "That's where they put me." She always had a negative outlook on everything. The room that we looked at, the people had just moved out. So, it needed a little clean up, but the size was OK. It had a little more storage space than I had thought there was. They had scheduled activities for them to do, like crafts and puzzles. They had a laundry facility I believe on every floor. They had games and puzzles at the particular place where the laundry was. So, they had things for them to do while they were waiting for their laundry. What I liked best about Broadmoor was that my mom was pleased with it and she felt she could fit in. I also liked that they always had fruits and drinks out for the people.
It was an old building, but they kept it clean. They were repainting some area. If she won't be in independent living, they have the assisted living, and then they also have a nursing home type. Everything was just right there, and they didn't have to go far.

The Broadmoor was very good. That was where my mother was prior to going to a skilled nursing unit. She was there for about six months before she developed this UTI. The price there was OK. The staff was very good; they were excellent. The food was good, and they had a menu to choose from. The people there were good too. I mean, overall, on the scale of one to five, I would give them a five. I think it was probably one of the first ones built there in Tulsa, but still it was very nice and very clean. They have updated it. This place was very friendly, very warm, and very loving, and that's what elderly people need. They need to be treated as a person and not as a number. It is kind of like a resort when you walk in. There is a beautiful dining room, and then there is another room off to the side where you can work on puzzles. They have a beautiful aquarium, and they even have a grand piano sitting outside. They even have exercise rooms. I mean, it was very, very warm, relaxing, and inviting. I would recommend anybody to go in there. In fact, we tried to get my father-in-law to go there.

I visited Broadmoor for myself. This facility also has an assisted living and a nursing home. Their dining room was wonderful but their apartments did not have a stove. We had dinner there and I just thought the meals were wonderful. They have a menu just like in a restaurant. The one who took me around was really nice. As far as my visit there, their staff members were nice people.

The Broadmoor is very nice. The residents are happy and content. I like the location. They have transportation to the church.
