My sister had moved into the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. It's a nursing home and it's very clean. The person running it and the one I talked to the most, her name is Kate, is very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very helpful. It is an older facility, but they've updated rooms, put new floors in, did some painting and stuff like that. It's an old building but it's still in very good shape. They have a beautician that comes in twice a week. They have entertainment when they can but Covid has got things shut down a little bit. They have a nice meeting room and an exercise room.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. You can smell urine before you even get to the front door. The aides could take better care of people, while my family member was a resident there she was rolled out of the bed onto her head on to the floor, all because an aide thought that she was able to change my family members bed alone. The aides weren't very good at turning my family member regularly, there were doctor's orders that she be turned every 2 hours, there were times that she was not turned but once a 12 hour shift. They weren't good at keeping the side rails up on the bed either. The only good thing that I can say about this facility is that from what I saw it was physically clean, just smelled like urine, and the food didn't look too bad.But my family member seemed to like the facility.
