The Wellington at Dayton was a very large place. When we first went in, the receiving area was nice and clean. There wasn't any problem there. They had activities. They do bingo, they have a card night, game night, and people that come in playing music. We chose not to take the room, because it overlooked the roof of all the air conditioning units and everything. It didn't have a view at all. The lady who took us through was very nice. She explained everything to us and showed us all the places like the dining room, the game room, and different things. They also had a beauty parlor for the seniors. The facility was clean. We just didn't particularly like the layout, but it's nice. It's just not our preference.

I liked The Wellington at Dayton. They were nice, but they wouldn't do the home dialysis for my mom. I saw a room. They have a refrigerator and microwave. The staff was good. The dining area is restaurant type.

My mom has been in a senior living community for quite a few years now. She is at The Wellington at Dayton. We were upset with The Wellington and we were looking at another facility, but my mom is going to stay where she is instead. She is in assisted living. The aides aren't nice, and there aren't enough per person. They just run in and run out before a person can ask them, "Hey, can you do this for me please?" That's why we were going to move, because one wouldn't give her name when she wouldn't help my mom with her bath. There hasn't been a director or an executive director in office for about six months. They always tell me there's an interim, but I never got to talk to her, so the nurses and the aides all protect one another. Now we're hesitant to say things because we don't want them to hurt my mom. My mom has broken her arms and she got a big gash in her leg because they don't get there when she needs to go to the bathroom and things. My mom is full care. We're not happy with the place, but we don't know that it's not going to be the same somewhere else. The rooms are beautiful, but the meals are very bad. Since my mom has broken her legs, she is not able to get down there, and sometimes they forget her dinner. One day she only got two pieces of meatloaf and that was it. She got a loose hamburger and a hotdog bun and that was it. We're not allowed in there, so we can't really see all the other things, and Mom is not remembering things, so we don't know what happens to her. The facility always looks nice.

We are happy with The Wellington at Dayton. We are happy with the place and the care that my husband's uncle is getting. He loves it there. Anytime we go see him he tells us how happy he is. My husband's uncle has an apartment. He has a big room, a walk-in closet, a washer and dryer, a range, a refrigerator, and a microwave. It is also bright. They placed him close to an elevator so that he can come to the lunchroom by himself. They have movies, games, and activities that my husband's uncle can participate in, but he can't engage in conversation with other people because of his hearing. Nevertheless, the Wellington at Dayton is the nicest place for the best price. My husband's uncle doesn't have a lot of money, but they work with us a lot.

The rooms at The Wellington at Dayton were kind of dark. They had a wide variety of activities and amenities, like an activity room and a nice lobby area. The staff and dining room were nice, and the place was clean.

There is not enough space on this site for me to put down every issue we had with my Mom while at the Wellington of Dayton. I even attempted to raise issues to their parent company and after all the documentation I sent to them, I can't get them to return my phone calls. During the time my Mom was at the Wellington of Dayton, we had numerous conferences with the Director and head of nursing, but we did not see any positive outcome from our concerns/complaints. There were 3 times I found my Mom un-responsive and called 911, there were numerous times she called me to say that they had not responded to her call button. While the actual care givers seem to "care", there were not enough of them to support the promises made prior to signing the contract. The worst thing that happen was my Mom had untreated wounds, which is extremely dangerous. The new facility we moved her too discovered them on day one and called in wounds specialists to ensure they were treated. The Wellington will talk a good story when they are showing you the facility, but if your loved one needs assisted living this is not the place you should choose. During the time my Mom was there, it was daily visits to ensure they were doing what we were paying for them to do. There was no peace of mind until we moved her to another facility in the area.

The Wellington at Dayton was my top pick. The building, location, and parking were nice. Inside, the social areas and the dining room were all very nice. The food was good. On each floor, they had a little kitchenette area where they would have a continental breakfast if you didn’t want to go down to the full dining room for breakfast. They had a very nice selection of different things for the residents to be involved in and seemed to have activities that are considered to be good and stimulating for the brain. I saw people sitting around the social areas. It looked like they were talking together and enjoying themselves. They allowed two pets, which is unusual. They had transportation off-site available and usually free within a generous radius around the building of 15 to 20 miles, and you pay a fee if you need to go further than that. It had laundry rooms available on each floor so that you could do your own laundry if you wanted to or if not, they could do it for you. They offered a special move-in rate if you moved in January. When I went back the last week of January, their price had gone up a couple of thousand dollars a month, and I was not real pleased with it.

My grandmother has really enjoyed her time at the Wellington. Although it was hard to leave her house and a tough decision we made the right call. She enjoys the food and dinner outings. Our biggest factor was bringing her dog, they accommodated this.

We chose The Wellington at Dayton because of our past experiences with it. We chose a one-bedroom apartment for Mom. They have parties on the patio, cookouts, and therapies. The facility itself is nice, but their nursing care is horrible.

We are very happy with The Wellington at Dayton. We are happy with the care my parents are getting there. The food is excellent. We just had Thanksgiving with them. The staff are very helpful. Sometimes, I think they are a little understaffed, but their needs are taken care of, so we are very happy with them. They have their own apartment -- a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, a bedroom with a walk-in closet, bathroom. There are many activities available there. It is a well-maintained community. I would suggest that they hire more staff, more nurses. But so far, I am very satisfied with their services.

We went to The Wellington at Dayton for a visit. Their staff was wonderful. They were helpful, caring, and very nice as well. The apartments were very nicely done, large, and well-priced. The whole area was immaculate. It was clean and cheerful. The food was delicious, and their dining area is very nice. We liked this place a lot.
