My sister has moved into Light of Hearts Villa. It's a faith-based community. It was formed by the Sisters of Charity, which appealed to my sister. They're into Bible study and their whole attitude is not all about money, so that appealed to us very much. Right now, we're trying out assisted living because she fluctuates between doing good and then not really realizing what day it is or whatever, like her recall of facts, numbers, and things. They feel that they would like to start her there and see how it goes, and if need be, they could always move her over to memory care. Right now, they're evaluating her situation. I haven't tried their meals. I have to give them a heads up when I'm coming for either lunch or dinner, so you have to put a request in. But my sister is very happy with their food because she's there for every meal three times a day and no complaints, and she is a food fussy. Her room is like a suite. There's an entranceway, a pantry so she can store things, a private bath for the shower, and there's room for her queen-sized bed, a nightstand, a recliner, two dressers, and a rocking chair. It's quite roomy. They play Jeopardy and they play bingo. Yesterday, a husband and a wife came and sang and played instruments and so forth. I think it was like songs from the 1940s and 1950s, which they all enjoyed. My sister is doing much better walking so that she can get around with her walker. She can go visit some of her friends. They're not all in the same area, but they can go by elevator up or down. She's doing much better mingling with people.

Light of Hearts Villa is an assisted living facility that goes above and beyond what a family expects. Rooms are spacious even the efficiency suites. All have private bathrooms and kitchenettes. But none of that is important if the staff is not caring, professional and knowledgeable. Each resident is treated as an individual with his/her own likes and dislikes. Each is provided with the care needed and yet challenged to keep as much independence as they can. Staff is amazing and happy!!! Residents choose to actively engage or not in the activities provided but staff doesn't often let anyone just sit around doing nothing! Because the building was former high school there are large open spaces available for gathering of residents that many other facilities don't have. I would strongly encourage you to visit Light of Hearts Villa BEFORE a crisis hits in your family. It is always best to be prepared with a loving community in the background offering support!

I went to both memory care and assisted living at Light of Hearts Villa. It's beautiful and I liked it, but many of the amenities were ala carte. The people seemed caring. I would recommend it. The staff during the tour was wonderful. The dining area was pleasant. They make an effort to engage people every day with their activities.

We had a very nice tour at Light of Hearts Villa. The admissions guy was very knowledgeable and helpful. The facility was beautiful. They have a bunch of different room choices, which was lovely. It's a Catholic facility so they have masses. The dining room was very nice. They have a big activity room and an activity director. It used to be a high school and they have transformed it beautifully. It was very high quality. It stood out and was lovely.

My mother-in-law was in Light of Hearts Villa for three weeks. The staff was very good. She had a clean, medium-sized room. They had bingo, and people came for music. They had something every day for the people who live there. The staff was very caring. It's a very good place but a little expensive. When you call somebody to your room, they come right away. They were fully staffed. She didn't complain about the food.
