Brookdale Alliance seemed nice enough. There were ladies out in the community areas. They seemed to be friends and they seemed to be comfortable. The building itself was nice. They have a beauty/barbershop. They have activities. It was a nice enough one. The lady who was helping us was very helpful, and she has called a couple of times to check and see how things were going. But I don't think we could afford it and we didn't feel that home-like feeling there. It felt more institutional to us. I'm not sure what all the activities were, but they had a calendar up with the various things that were happening there in the building. They have a small patio out in the front, and they said people like to sit out there and watch the traffic. It wasn't like a private area. We were not impressed with the fact that everything was extra. We didn't meet the other staff but the lady that we meet with was very helpful.

Brookdale Alliance had a nice common room and a nice dining room. The apartments were 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom, and they were nice and clean. They weren't bad sized. The staff was friendly, nice, and caring. They called me back a couple of times to see if I'm interested in my parents going to assisted living.

Mom is in Brookdale Alliance for respite care. The place is nice and clean, and the people are very friendly. Her apartment is nice and comfortable. They take them out once a week to eat out or go to the movies. They took them to the county fair one time. They also do a lot of indoor activities like playing trivia, Bingo, Cornhole, and she's enjoying those. Their meals are very good, too.

When we went to visit Brookdale Alliance, I saw some residents playing cards. There were some playing music. There were also some people outside enjoying the weather.

Several of my family members have lived at Sterling House. My mother currently lives there now however, we are looking at other care options. Our family has noticed the last several months the feeling has changed in the entire atmosphere. The Director is down right rude. She has no compassion for our needs. My mother made the statement to me that she feels that she just looks at her as a dollar sign. The nursing staff, caregivers, and most of the management are very caring, dedicated, and compassionate. As we know the ones who care for her and the way the treat our family is why we have kept her there thus far. I would recommend visiting several times (drop by) prior to making a decision.

I had promised my mother that I would not put her in a nursing home. Going to Sterling House, I feel that I was able to keep that promise. The individual apartments permitted her to keep her independence while having assistance when needed. Her apartment had a kitchenette, living room, bedroom, and bath. She was able to socialize with other residents, join in with activities, or walk around the facility and exercise. (The size of the facility is deceiving from the road.) I feel that her world was getting smaller day by day and living at Sterling House opened it up again. My mother received the attention and care that was needed and I wish to thank the staff for making her last days happy for her.

My dad was at Sterling House until he needed skilled nursing services. Our whole family misses the friendly caring staff to this day. They even visited dad at his new "home" and brought him treats and cards from the residents. We all recommend it highly. You will love it too!!!

I visit Sterling House regularly to see my grandmother. She loves Sterling House and calls it home. The staff is attentive and kind and make me and my family feel like we are at home when we visit too. Keep up the good work.

My mother is currently a resident at sterling house. The staff of resident care associates are wonderful . They work hard and are so caring . The management staff is a different story. Rude. They don't care and they don't even know the names of the people that stay there. The food is gross too. They did have a young lady cook in there a couple months ago that was really nice and treated my mother like a queen. But again the head cook Stephen doesn't know how to make a menu. He serves the same things over and over. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Sterling House of Alliance was a wonderful place. The care was great. However, my dad's health deteriorated so much that he had to have care because he couldn't do things for himself. He had a studio apartment of his own with a refrigerator in his little kitchenette area, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a sitting room. They offered all their meals. They did their laundry. They had a lot of activities for the residents. They kept them occupied and moving. They had a big open dining room with table settings. They had a few choices of different things they could have for their meals. It was a very nice place, and the people were really nice.

The facility does not have the staff to take care of residents, as they loose the ability to care for themselves. Fortunatly, my father was in the assisted living area and fended for himself. I saw residents who were wheelchair bound, sit at the dinning room tables from lunch till supper. There were many residents who should have been moved to a nursing home enviroment, but instead they would keep them there and charge more. However, there just wasn't the staff to care for them. It broke my heart everytime I went there. We ended up moving my dad to a wounderful facility in Louisville, OH.
