My grandpa lived here for five years, and it was wonderful for the first four. Unfortunately, the new management from Hillstone adopted a slew of cost cutting measures at the great expense of the residents' well-being. First to go was the vibrant activities program as aggressive staff cuts made it unsustainable. Next to go were the standards for admitted residents and facility cleanliness. Finally, attention to the medical and social needs of the residents fell drastically. I hope that Otto Warmbier is receiving better care in North Korea than the residents here are getting. I wouldn't send my grandpa back to this place if he had beat me as a child. PLEASE do not send your loved ones (or even not so loved ones) here. Apologies to the few remaining good staff members who are doing their best.

When my great-grandmother broke both her hips, we knew it meant she'd be moving to a facility that could take care of her around-the-clock. While Hudson Elms seems to have the room-to-room appearance of most unwanted nursing homes, where the patients are divided by a hanging sheet and directed at the same television all day, I have to say everyone in my family was surprised by the intimate care she received. The facilities aren't brand new and there's still the difficult side of saying goodbye and not wanting to leave your loved one behind, but it's evident the staff there is nurturing and know exactly how to care for patients who have sustained debilitating injuries. She eventually moved out from Hudson Elms to a facility offering single rooms, but the few months she spent there were very satisfactory. She often told us how she liked Hot Dog Thursdays.
