This place is cramed in between other nursing homes on a very small parcel of ground. I don't know how they received permission to build in such a fashion. There is no grass, no trees, no opportunity for the inmates to go outside and breathe "real air." Food is the usual institutional food - below average. The complaint that I heard most often was, "These people don't know the first thing about making pumpkin pie!" The rooms were fine, as they were furnished with the inmate's personal belongings. The owner swept through a couple times per week and kissed the lady inmates on the lips. I never saw this, just heard complaints about his spreading of germs. After living there for years, my person died alone and in pain. All medications were withdrawn, including pain pills and sedatives that the inmate had taken for years. Hospice was supposed to take over, but their pain dosage was tiny compared to the usual amount this person had been taking. So, in effect, my person died in pain and anxiety and withdrawl. No complaints about staff. Without them, the place would surely go out of business. Hope Dr Baum reads this.

Bethany stood out. My parents were very impressed with it. The apartments were pretty and very clean. The staff was very helpful with all the questions that they asked. They had lots of activities for them. I could not remember what they were, but they had exercise classes, programs, card nights, and different types of things. I liked that the staff there were pretty much long time employees. They do not have a very big turnover ratio in their employees.

Bethany is rated a 5-star in the state of Ohio. They are absolutely wonderful. They have assisted living and rehab there and my mother was in their rehab center. And I can't say enough good about them. They are wonderful. The staff and the doctors are phenomenal. It's a family-operated business. The mother is a doctor, the father runs the place, the son is the computer person, and the daughter is a nurse practitioner and they are absolutely wonderful. They have two dogs and fish tanks. They have food for the guests that are coming in. They have soup and sandwiches and this is for the people that lived there too. If you come and visit, you can actually dine with the patient in the dining room and they bring you the food. The food was good.
