My mother is currently at Danbury Brunswick. We love it, they give her wonderful care, and because it is a residential facility, there are licenses and regulations, so they implemented a service to come in and help them do the things that they are not allowed to do. We're very satisfied with it and she really likes it. She started on the independent living side first. What we like about the place is that everything is in this one big building, they just put her in the other wing when she had to move to assisted living. It's physically gorgeous, the staff members are very caring and friendly, and the food is terrific. In fact, when we were moving her in there, my husband and I thought that if we could figure out a way to move ourselves in there and not have her know, we would have done it by the following weekend. It's that nice. The assisted living is in the same big building as in the independent. The building is shaped like a V so she just moved from one leg of that V over to the other, which is nice. The nursing staff is good, the caregivers are very kind, and I have witnessed this myself. They do everything they can to promote social interaction, which has been difficult during COVID. She has access to all the therapies and interventions she needs, it's all onsite. They have an onsite physician, onsite director of nursing, it's all right in there. If she runs out of shower soap, they make a shopping list for her and they will run and get it for her. The facility, your jaw would drop if you walked in there, it looks like a five-star hotel. It's also kept immaculately clean. They have cooks in the kitchen but they also have a cordon bleu chef, so the food is great. Their activity calendar is so big they couldn't fit it on a standard size paper, they had to stretch it out into a legal size because there is that much for them to do. They have a room available if you want to have friends over and play a game night. You just have to put your name on the board to use it. The chef doesn't like cheap kinds of snacks, so you get appetizers instead, and that's just considered part of the service. They have a pub and everything is free in there.They have a theater room with a schedule of the movies being shown. They have a beauty parlor and a massage spa. They have the basic exercise room with high-end exercise equipment. I know it's high-end because I work for the YMCA, and I know good equipment when I see it, I know the brand names too. They have onsite OT, PT, speech and physical therapy, it's just an amazing place.

I toured Danbury in Brunswick, and it's very nice. The staff was wonderful, they have a chef, and food and dining room were fabulous. They have physical therapy, an exercise room, a full-size theater, and bistro where you can get beer and wine. They have living rooms outside the rooms every 500 meters.
