They only have assisted living and memory care at The Inn at Bear Trail. The staff was very professional, but not as personable. The facility was very nice. It's a new place and cozy looking. There were very few rooms that had access to the outside, but they all have a window. They were nice, new, and clean. They try to make the dining area look cozy and it did look cozy, but I wasn't there during mealtime.
There's a nice courtyard out back, but there's not an area around that I saw where residents could go out and roam around, only in that courtyard. They were playing bingo at that time. They have activities, but there weren't a lot of field trips, just more necessary trips out, like maybe to the grocery store and doctors' appointments. It was more like a facility than the other place. It wasn't as warm and fuzzy.

A friend recommended Bear Trail to us after their dad lived here. The staff is always very friendly. Our mom enjoys the activities that go on. The food is pretty good. The dietary manager does take recommendations from the residents for the menu. Food was one of the big things for mom when we were looking.

My father is at The Inn at Bear Trail. He seems to like the nursing staff well. They are really nice people. The biggest problem that he sees is how long it takes once he presses the call button for somebody to actually come in. Sometimes, it's been several hours before someone comes in. Otherwise, it's neat and clean. The food isn't the greatest either. I'm not allowed in, and we do window visits to his room. He has somebody open up the window and we talk through the window. We can do on the porch scheduled visits, but with the weather changing, that's not gonna happen. He has a studio. They have daily exercise, and normally they would be able to go on outings, but with COVID they can't. Normally, they have a minister come in. They've got a patio out front and a courtyard in the middle, so they've got a really beautiful area, and it has ponds and waterfalls. It's gorgeous. It's very much like a lodge view. The staff has all been excellent. The floor plans look good. They have a bunch of activities, but he hasn't been able to go in any of them.

My mom was at The Inn At Bear Trail. The experience started off good, but there was a significant turnover in all levels of the facility. The administration totally changed, the nursing staff was never consistent, and the aides were not consistent or very responsive. When she first got there it was good for a while, but as the staff changed it got a little chaotic. She never got a rhythm there. My mom's room was nice. It was actually two studios put together. She had a bedroom, a living room, two bathrooms, and a big entry. She had the biggest room in the place. It was nice. She had no kitchenette though, so that was a problem. They also have a theater, a bar, lots of gathering areas, a salon, and a craft room. They have all those types of amenities. They would do crafts, they had a kids group coming in to entertain them, they had chair volleyball, and they did movie nights. They had a nice Christmas party for families during the holidays. The facilities and amenities were nice. The constant turnover in the staff and the administration was a problem. The food was not very good, and the service in the dining room was not that great. My mom's room, because it was a double room, was pretty expensive, and it wasn't as good as where we are at now.

We moved my mother in to The Inn at Bear Trail. The layout is wonderful. The staff is great. I have nothing but praise for them. The dining area is very nicely set up and there are three different ones. They have a wide range of games and a little bit of everything. They have a beauty shop, a barber shop, a small movie theater, and a self-serve cafe for beverages. It's got every amenity. The staff is very friendly and very efficient. It's' only 2 years old and it's top of the line. It's one of the best ones I found around. Even though it's new, it's a reasonable rate.

The Inn at Bear Trail was very welcoming and suited my mother's needs very well. It's all on one floor and has a small community of less than 100 people. The food was excellent and the dining room was very nice, new, and very easy for residents to navigate around. It wasn't crowded and there were several servers who helped them get seated if needed, and would move their walkers out of the way to clear the area so they could serve the food properly. It was very good. They have daily activities for all the individuals, like card clubs, crafting, basic computers that they can use, an atrium with birds, a beauty parlor, movie theater, enclosed garden area with a waterfall water feature, a little putting green, a bar facility, and happy hour. They also have a physical therapy room. The value was excellent.
