About This Community

We began our quest into senior living because of our love for our beloved mother, Mary Bickford, whose needs became too great for us to manage. As we researched senior living options, we were shocked at our findings. The options offered too much or too little — none met her needs and nothing felt like home. Since we couldn't find what we wanted, we decided to create what we needed. Our main desire was to create a place that helped her achieve an equivalent peace and happiness that she had earlier in her life.

We understand that selecting a senior living community for your loved one is one of the toughest decisions that you will ever face. We will work with you to ensure that the transition is as easy and comfortable as possible. Whether your loved one is at home, in the hospital or even in another state, we can work with your hospital, insurance company, and doctor to make your difficult decision easier on you and your family. Aging can be difficult — but we've also seen the beauty in aging. Our mother's happiness inspired us. We created Bickford for her and now we're devoted to serving yours. We look forward to meeting you soon.

We have chosen Bickford of Worthington for my dad. My dad knows someone who already lives there. I've met with the folks there, and I liked all the staff. The assisted living area has a bedroom, a living room, and a small kitchenette. They have several activities. They have something going on every day. They do have a beauty shop, a barbershop, a community meeting area, a library, a dining room, a garden area, an outside area, a nice front porch area where residents can sit out. The staff was very friendly. All of the staff members that I saw greeted me and said hello.

Bickford of Worthington is the one we would choose for my mom. It did not give me the impression of a commercialized or institutional kind of care. It looked more like a home. It was an older facility, but it was well-maintained and clean. It gave more of a sense of a bed and breakfast than it did of a care facility or assisted living facility. I was happy with the staffing levels and the longevity of the staff that has been there. It was an older facility. I don't think they have some of the modern things for rehabilitation or things like that. It doesn't have all the glitz and glamor of a new place, but what's more important to me is the level of care.

It was clean, the people were great, and they have a lot of things for their residents to do if they want to. It's so nice, and it's like a whole community. The rooms are really nice, spacious for 1 or 2 people, clean, modern, and something that you’d want to live in. The person who toured me around was great, she answered anything I needed answered, and she was sweet.

It was very nice, and the staff was nice. They were all friendly. As I walked through and got my tour, everybody said hi. They were interactive with the residents, everybody knew each other's names, and they knew the residents' names. It was very friendly and comfortable, and it felt like a home. The dining room was very cozy. I got there at lunchtime, everybody was talking, having a good time, and the food looked good. It was set up really nice -- like a little bistro -- and there was plenty of little cozy corners where you could sit and read or chat with a friend. They had an area with a piano where they had various types of music in there, and they have what they call a Happy Hour on Friday evenings right after dinner where they bring someone in to play the piano, and they just gather and play games and listen to the music and dance. They have like a light exercise thing if you want to do that, they got one room with a big TV, they have a mini football parties on game rooms, and the residents come in and watch. It was an excellent facility.

My husband is here, and he seems to be adjusting very well. It's a very nice place. The staff are very encouraging, kind, and patient with him. They have all kinds of activities, like Bible study and music. They have outings, and he has not gone to any of the cross rides. They have social hour before lunch and dinner if he wishes to participate. I like the fact that the facility is very cheerful and very friendly.
