Sunset House was expensive. They require a bit of money to live there, but it was very nice. It had everything that one would need or want. They had restaurant-style living. They were very informal about breakfast -- i.e., you could come down any time and have it.
They definitely have levels of care and assistance. Once you got settled there, you never had to leave. However, the staff was not accommodating as much. It was less accommodating and less friendly, but they had everything that one would want.

This retirement community is a life changing place where I had decided to go with my relatives. When I was there I almost wept looking at all these aged people who have been abandoned by their children or do not have the proper financial resources to protect themselves. It was a sorry state of affairs when I saw them but they did not show a single glimpse of sadness on their face. They were really happy and when I started interacting with them they were talking to me happily. I asked them a bunch of questions like what is their typical day like or what do they do here for all of you and they said this place is refreshing. They actually provide financial assistance to the elderly and also ask all of them what they want during this phase of life. So they actually have a wish list. They receive a lot of gifts from visitors and we also gave them a lot of donation to bring smiles on their face. It was the best time of my life and I would love to go back there again.
