Sunrise At Parma was a very nice-looking place. It was a smaller place than the others I've toured, they had about 50 residents. It felt very homey to me. In a lot of the other places I went to, you hardly see anybody, but when we were here, you see people sitting down to eat, you see people walking around, and you see people sitting outside. When you walk in there was a dog sleeping, it just had a very nice atmosphere. The people that we met were super nice. The best thing was that it was not huge and we saw a lot of the residents when we visited. The one who gave us the tour was Lauren, and she was super accommodating. We took our dad and we were telling her that we were trying to make it not look like a planned visit, and we asked her not to say anything about the cost upfront because that would skew my dad. So she was super nice, she did everything we asked, and she was awesome.

The staff at Sunrise at Parma was very friendly and caring, and you could see that they have a good relationship with the residents. The residents were out and talking to each other, and they seemed to be enjoying it. I knew right away I couldn't afford it, and it's disappointing because it was nice. The place was well done. It looked very good. It was all clean, and everything was neat. In terms of location, it was on the outskirts so that's good. I think they had a pool. They had a place for activities and exercise.

The staff at Sunrise at Parma was very good. The place was very cozy, and the residents were always up and about and engaged. I saw them doing an activity. The room was just too small. The food was good. I saw both their assisted living and memory care facilities. They had an activity room, birds, a dog, a game room, a library, and gardens.

Our mother has been a resident in the memory care unit for 3 years. My brother, sister and I are very pleased with the care she has been given. The staff genuinely cares about her and makes sure she is comfortable.

Sunrise At Parma was very nice, and it was high on our list, but they wanted $3000 upfront fee, and I thought it was just ridiculous. We liked it, but the fee was more than what I was willing to pay. Everybody that I talked to was very nice, and we liked the facility. It was the upfront fee that was a disqualifier. They had a very extensive facility, and it was very nice.

Overall, we were not pleased with the staff in Sunrise at Parma. The rooms were fine, but the staff did not pay a lot of attention to the residents. It seemed they spent more time talking with each other than taking care of the patients. They had a room for activities, but we did not have the chance to see their activities. The dining area was fine. The place was very nice and was a two- or three-story building.

The rooms at Sunrise at Parma were very nice. Mom is in a studio-type apartment. The staff are very friendly and caring. Mom seems to be happy with them. They were very professional with their presentation when we did our initial tour and they’ve been very responsive to any request we had. Overall, we were very pleased. Mom’s room is in a corner which has two big windows that she can look at out the main street. The room was cute because we were able to bring some of her living room furniture so it was very cozy-looking. She has a small kitchenette with just a refirgerator but she doesn’t have a microwave because she cannot do these things on her own. She has own private bathroom with a handicap-accessible shower and she has a nice size closet. I personally think their food is great. They have quite different activities like they go on outings, they have different musical performers coming in, they have manicures and a beauty shop, they have board games and bingo. They have physical therapy activities. They have cocktail happy hour once a week too. They have some nice garden patios. Overall, we’ve been very happy with this facility.

I really liked Sunrise. It was on the top of my list. It was very homey and I liked the layout. I liked the rooms. In between the dining room and major rooms, they had other gathering places. If somebody couldn't walk very far, they could sit down with other people. They had different levels of care, with the memory impaired as well. They had one-bedrooms and rooms that could be shared. They had a lot of activities. I saw some of the crafts that the people were making. They involved them and they keep exercising their minds. They had special occasions where everybody dressed up and danced. The people who are working there were very helpful. They had choices when it came to the food, so it would be something for a picky eater or somebody that liked just about everything.

My mother is really happy at Sunrise at Parma. It's a very homey atmosphere. There are a lot of windows and woodwork. It has a 1940s or 1950s décor. There are a lot of clear domes on the top of the roof that let the sunlight in. The staff is excellent. They come around to each individual about a half an hour before meals are going to be served, and they make sure that they know that the meals are about to be served. If they don't come down there in about five minutes, they come back around to the ones who haven?t showed up yet. It's a very warm and friendly place. They have a therapy dog. I have a vision problem. The dog was laying in the hallway, I didn't see it, and I stepped on it. It's a very forgiving dog. They have a 2-person suite where each person actually has their own bedroom with a solid door that they can close. Then two of them share a kitchenette and a bathroom, and there's a door outside of that that can be closed also. They allow pets there. My mom told me about one lady who had a cat. They also have a thing for dementia patients that's secured.

I visited Sunrise Assisted Living because it was very close to where my father lives when I looked for an assisted living facility for him. But he does not want to go anywhere where they don't let them smoke in their own rooms. It's fairly new. They have one section where they have people who forget, the other is for people who needs physical therapy or some sort of care. It's very nice there. They have two bedrooms and one bedroom. They have three meals a day. They provide them a central location where they can have coffee, juice or popcorn any time of day.
